AB's Newark brewery (built in the late 40s-early 50s) has glass-lined tanks  but it no longer bottles Rolling Rock (or any other beer) - cans or draught only. Rolling Rock's COLA is approved for all 12 AB US breweries, at the time of the article quoted below they were brewing and bottling RR in Baldwinsville, L.A. and Ft. Collins.

It is bullshit that the TTB approves those labels with that erroneous statement of location and equipment (although, "glass-lined" was itself BS  - pretty standard for brewers to use Pfaudler glass-enameled tanks in the first half of the 20th century, like these breweries in 1933.)

A horrible thought, I had already been a regular pub drinker for some years then!

After posting this, I got curious about the capacity of AB's Newark brewery (their first brewery outside of St. Louis). Needless to say, like every other !@#$ company, they've changed their website since my last visit and they no long list capacities*.

But they do have have pages for each of their brewery's brewmasters - was amused at the Newark brewmaster's hometown.

Wait a minute - "Brewmaster, St Johns Brewery " ?

Is that AB-InBev/Labatt's brewery in St. John's, Newfoundland or the one called "St. John Brewers" in the U.S. Virgin Islands that mostly is contract-brewed at Shipyard?

    * Newark's capacity was rated at 7.5m bbl a few years ago - making it AB's third smallest in the US (ahead of only Fairfield and Merrimack). In the 1970s, Newark was their 4th largest, at 4.7m bbl - behind St. Louis, Columbus and Jacksonville.

Funny I spotted this as it just came up in a conversation I had today and the two that immediately came to mind for me, which I like are:
Laguntas: "Life is uncertain, don't sip!" and
Great Divide: "Great minds drink alike."

    Cheers!

Or, once they went to the green "select" bottles for their throw-aways:

Even though I always bought the brown glass deposit bottles (12 oz. steinies or long necks, 16 oz. long necks) if they were also available, the "homemade" look of these signs had a certain charm.
