Drinking one of my fresh FBSs and it's like a rich smooth chilled espresso. Gonna make pancakes with maple syrup on Saturday morning and drink one, should be great. On that note, shouldn't there be a hip, cool breakfast cafe that serves FBS?

Thought DL and Creme Brulee took the cake for this, but I've only had Creme Brulee. I do have a '12 DL and a '13 IBB, so I'll be finding out eventually.

I think drinking an 8% beer at breakfast is too much. I personally would go with Wolaver's Alta Gracia Coffee Porter. Or if you don't mind the AB connection, Kona Pipeline Porter

I second the recommendations for these stouts:

    Terrapin Wake 'N Bake
    Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout

    Another one you might like:

    Green Flash Double Stout

    Imperial Biscotti Break.

It is not nearly as sweet as some make it seem. Perfect for Breakfast.

Velvet Merkin would be delightful as well if you can get your hands on a bottle

Don't do it often, but once in awhile I will sip on a stout in the Am. Expresso Yeti, Beer Geek Breakfast, or Founder's Breakfast Stout. On the golf course, IPA's taste good early in the A.M.

I just had a '12 Dark lord recently and as sweet as it was and as much as people complain about it being too sweet, I found that the amount of coffee presence and just the massive thickness of the mouthfeel (thickest beer I have ever had by a mile) balanced out the sweetness and made for the best beer I've ever had to date. But that's just me. Cheers to cracking it though when you do

In Austria I would routinely see older men having a beer in the breakfast room at the hotel (and, unfortunately, often a cigarette too...). It seemed the choice for breakfast amongst these seasoned drinkers was a nice Weißbier. Why? Maybe it's the banana overtones.

Stone espresso ris, victory at sea or breakfast stout.

If you want something with less alcohol then Samuel Smith oatmeal is definitely the way to go. Also Edmund Fitzgerald porter may go well.

...yes, i'm eating pancakes and bacon for dinner, but the child in me seems to not find any real difference. Oh, but the adult in me finds a HUGE difference at the alcohol used in my chosen meal...

and my little brother is a POS for photo bombing...but I'm drunk, so who gives a $h1T

I can't believe nobody has mentioned TG Mornin' Delight.

Though in terms of attainability, FBS is a fantastic breakfast beer.

Absolutely Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout! Terrapin Wake n Bake is a great one too & pair them with a plate of Beignets (French doughnuts).
