I am getting a log of bottles to age in a cellar, just wondering where to find a quality wine or beer rack for my beers that is under $100 dollars... May not be possible. Also any other tips you may have about aging I would appreciate. Mostly aging stouts, sours, and wild ales. Thanks and cheers!

Places like IKEA and Lowe's/HD are a good start. Google image search to come up with ideas. I want something that is nice and I can stain, plus I like to build myself. My long weekend project is an 8ft x 6ft bookcase made from high quality pine boards. About 140 in lumber and my time. Will post a pic when done.

I actually got two steel racks from Target. They were only ~$30 each. 3 shelves each hold 150 lbs and easily hold bombers. I got some hard plastic and cut it to size so the steel railings that were the shelves (think closet shelves) were not a problem. Each shelf could probable hold 75 bottles. I looked for a link and found this http://www.target.com/p/room-essent...A-14484256#prodSlot=medium_1_59&term=shelfing

I keep my bottles in footlockers (those treasure chest type things kids keep their toys in). Only because I had them from when I was little and they are perfect size and they keep the light out completely. Also no risk of bottles falling off any shelves. For corked bottles I have a smaller wine rack that Is also close to the ground.

If you're going for the fun look of wine racks, by all means do it up but I will add that most beers are better off stored vertically.

My weekend project was to build some shelving that looked nice and would be able to grow into down the road. I have an unfinished room in my basement that I have dedicated to my cellar, so I decided to take up one wall of it with my cellar shelves.

Unit is 6ft x 8ft. I made them as three separate units then screwed them together and anchored to the wall. It is hard to tell in the pics but they are stained, just a very light color. The outside units have 3ft wide shelves that are 18" apart. Plan is to use them for 750ml, 22oz., growler, and homebrew storage/ The center shelves are 3ft wide and 12" apart, for 12oz bottles and glass ware.

I used some nice pine from my local lumberyard. Screws, wood glue, and stain were the only other materials needed. Total cost for everything was about $200.

I thought I had a lot of beer until I put it on the new shelves. Now I need more.....

^^ Very nice man, I like the look with the glassware in the middle. Good stuff.

I use the basic brackets you get from Home Depot/Lowes and it works great for upright storage. The wood is cheap and if you have it in a real cellar it will require it to be changed out every few years which is no big deal.

When laying beer and wine down, I use these: http://www.amazon.com/Bottle-Rustic...d=1410100028&sr=1-5&keywords=Wooden+Wine+Rack

Note the option for large or small bottles. I always get the large bottle option as it accommodates things like the magnum Bernardus Abt 12 annuals.
