I'm just laughing so hard at the thought of my wife recommending I try a new beer.

My ex (when we were together) surprised me one night with a pack of Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro which was my first experience with that beer. It made me happy

 

I owe my Xocoveza discovery to my wife. She brought me home a couple bottles before I had ever heard of it. Ended up being such a home run for me she went right back out and picked up 4 more bottles.

 

My girlfiend and I drank Ommegang Rare Vos together on our first date, I hadn't had it until then. Still a special beer for us!

 

I used my GF to mule back a few A&Ts, FFs, and LPKs from Spain last year if that counts?

 

I often try to get my gf to pick out beers for me. She is always hesitant but has seen me drink for years. The other day she finally obliged me. She came back with 90 Minute. I had never had it before and was very pleased. I told her that she needs to pick out beer more often, I like the surprise!!!

 

When my girlfriend and I had just started dating, she came back from the bar with a glass of Johnny Drum bourbon, neat, and a glass of boulevard harvest dance 2012, and got herself the exact same thing. Needless to say I was impressed, and she's still around for sure!

 

My wife doesn't really drink beer (although she is game to try beers I'm drinking). She has yet to bring me anything groundbreaking, but she'll frequently bring me beer when she drives down to Oregon for the Shakespeare Festival, which is pretty cool.

So best thing? Probably something from Southern Oregon Brewing out of Medford.

define 'directed', by a loose definition the one i'm having right now (dogfish indian brown)... her father, a non beer drinker but avid paper reader, turned me on to Kate the Great, Craft Beer Cellars, and Tributary Brewing and helped me discover Prost specialty beer in Northhampton NH by accident.

 

My wife picked out a bottle of GI Juliet once, and it was one of the best beers we've shared.

 

My fiancee recommended I try Grapefruit IPA from Perrin...Its a total GURL BEER! (Arnold voice)

 

An Epic barleywine (as an extra along with a few of one of my fav BBA barleywines) and a Propolis saison (she loves Bretts and sours)...she's quite the beer geek nowadays

My wife hardly drinks anything alcoholic at all - she will sip my drink or order one, take a few sips, and let me finish it. She does have a knack for picking up decent bottles of wine, though she mainly uses the name and the label as her selection criteria. Beginner's luck, I guess. I have not yet tested her luck on beer.
