    Hi guys,
My friends are opening a restaraunt soon and the whole theme is to try and have awesome food from local places. They are carrying the concept over to their beers and I gave them some ideas for beers but wanted some input from fellow geeks on things they can get in RI brewed within ~75miles of providence. This was the list i came up with, I'm sure there are a ton more that I'm forgetting, and I also only wanted to reccommend ones I had tried before:
    Hoppy beers:
Grey Sail Flying Jenny, Wachussett LARRY, Battle Road 1775 Tavern Ale(not sure if we get it in RI), Buzzards Bay IPA, Pretty Things Meadowlark. Bucket Brewery makes an IPA but i havent had it.

    Stout/Porter:
Cape ann Fisherman's Pumpkin Porter, Foolproof Raincloud, Mayflower Porter, Ipswitch Oatmeal Stout, Ravenous Coffee Milk Stout

    Saison/Wheats:
Pretty Things Jack D'or, Revival Zeppelin, Newport Storm hefeweizen<There has to be some I'm forgetting that I havent had

    Brown Ales/Maltier Offerings:
Grey sail Autumn Winds, Pretty Things St botolphs
    For non adventurers:
    Grey Sail flagship, Foolproof Barstool

They will have 10 taps and as far as i know no MBC. I really want them to have a good list of local stuff and I know we have at least a handful of good beers around.

Need to add to the list the following:
    Revival Black IPA
    Revival Saison
    Foolproof IPA
    'Gansett seasonals
BBC (though they are slightly more than 75 miles away)

OK, So 75 miles of providence. That includes the Boston breweries and those slightly north, light NightShift, Idle Hands and Mystic (presuming they distribute down there.)
I think the Ipswich / Mercury brewing labels are out.
Mayflower is in, Blue Hills is in if you want them.

You'll have to cross off Fool Proof, unless you want to serve crap.

Too bad Jack's Abby and Wormtown aren't available in RI, the breweries are less than 25 miles away.

Why would you just have specific beers and not a rotating list? Maybe stick with two regulars and rotate the rest of them out as they kick.

I really like Larkin's Dry Irish Stout. Throw in a beer engine and Berkshire will hook you up with some fine cask ales....oh, and I'll visit the place every day that Berkshire Czech Pils is on tap.

I think that's the idea, i was just trying to get a whole bunch of ideas to let them know good ideas for things to be looking out for.

I think Raincloud is a great beer. It's no Mayflower Porter, but it's solid.

To the OP, definitely include some stuff from Jack's Abby (Hoponius Union will be what all the hop heads will go for).

Where's the location of this place going to be?

I would love to ask them to get JA, but JA doesnt distribute to RI yet, I will be telling them they need it when/if JA ever distributes here. It will be in the arcade, i think they were shooting for a mid november opening.

In my opinion all of the beers made in RI are terrible. The only one in the OP I like is Grey Sail Flying Jenny. Just stock the bar with beers from MA. Nobody will complain.

Late answer but it's going to be in the arcade. It's called Rogue's Island local kitchen and bar. They will be opening in the first couple weeks of january. I was over there doing some work helping getting it ready this weekend. I'm hoping they will keep their word on having great beers, I try and steer them towards the better lesser seen stuff. but we'll see.
