What is even the point of creating a "best beers from each state" list? Anybody who is into beer and has been able to try beers from each state could compose a list and article like this. There are over 2000 craft breweries in the United States, with many great breweries found in states such as Cali, Colorado, Ohio, Michigan and so on. To name just one beer from each state is silly and, in my opinion, a waste of time.

    cheers

I completely disagree with the choice of Sorachi Ace, but that's what these lists are all about. I'll take Lake Placid's KB's Wee Heavy over Sorachi Ace or almost any other NYS beer when I can get my hands on it.

Kind of surprised that the Michigan choice wasn't something from Founders or Bells.

Lazy Magnoila in Mississippi now makes Timber Beast Rye IPA and it's better than the listed LM Southern Pecan.

Kane's beers are really impressive. Carton is another NJ brewery that is making some really good beers. There is a lot of good stuff coming out of NJ.

Speaking up for NC, Pisgah is a good brewery, I won't take anything away from them. That being said...their Pale Ale definitely is not their "best" beer and shouldn't be represented as the best the state has to offer.

I have just begun checking out the list and Whiteout Wit as Alaska's best beer is a joke. IMO that is Anchorage Brewing's worst beer let alone the state's best. Several brews from Midnight Sun could take the cake in Alaska.

Yeah, the DFH choice made me throw up the WTF flag too. Almost any of their beers would've been a better choice. Also, I like Great Lakes Christmas, but Lake Erie Monster is waaaay better (imo, of course).

I don't get the hate for Prima Pils being on this list. Yes, there are many great, flavorful beers coming from Pennsylvania. However, when a beer that is considered the best in its style is being dismissed in favor of beers that (while good) are lesser examples of their respective styles, the argument doesn't make much sense. Big /= better.

I like Foothills Hoppyum and Seeing Double better than Pisgah's IPA. Also, Olde Hickory has better offerings in Event Horizon, Imperial Stout, Lindley Park, etc. Then there's Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter... I could go on and on.

From PA here, Victory Prima Pils is an excellent choice, though I'd go for Troeg's Troegenator as my personal choice for PA's best.
