My four favorite Black IPAs: Hill Farmstead James, Firestone Walker Wookey Jack, Stone Sublimely Self Righteous, and Deschutes Hop in the Dark.

The ‘winner’ of those four: Hill Farmstead James!

    Cheers!

Wookey Jack Is Hands down The best black IPA. Sublimely Self Righteous, for me atleast does not seem to possess anywhere near the characteristics of what an IPA should have. Also, How is Wookey not a higher rated brew?

I Did it all for the Wookey

They don't currently make Hop in the Dark anymore.. So if you do find one, it's probably WAY past it's prime!

Odell Mountain Standard is without question the best one that I've had. Wookey Jack would be second on my list.

Boneyard Armored Fist takes it by a landslide for me. I haven't had a single beer, let alone black IPA, quite like this one. (Wookey Jack gets an honorary mention)

Hoppy Feet 1.5 was excellent. It's only in bomber format but well worth seeking out.
