Hey all, I am headed up to Kansas City from Manhattan KS for the day and was looking to pick up a few brews I can't score in the little apple. I was wondering what the best bottle shop to go to in KC area is? Also does anyone know if Crane is distributing to the KC area in bottle form yet.

Also, prolly a long long shot, but does Absence of Light sit around any bottle shops?

I'm not sure which is the best, I'm from Minnesota. I visit KC about once a year, and one of the Gomers stores is a must visit. I've been to the one in Lenexa, great selection, and this past visit I stopped at the one on 75th.

Hyvee stores carry a good selection, but if you want expert advice, stop by Gomers. They will let you know what's new, what's no longer carried (damn you Schlafly APA!) and what's still sitting around, but sought after.

Lukas on the MO side. Crane does distro to all of KC. Gomers is good as well, but just doesn't have the size that Lukas has.

No offense to anyone but I am looking to go to a bottle shop and support the small businesses in the area. So either way the supermarkets are a no go for me. :sunglasses:

The Missouri Lukas is just 1/4 mile from Martin City Brewery....they have some cool stuff to try and good pizza. Across the street is the the sister bar that has non-martin city brews. I think it's worth a stop, especially if you're at the Lukas that real close.

That sounds like my kind of stop as well! Thanks

Reply back and let me know what you think. I get to KC about 5 or 6 times a year and usually try to make a Martin City/Lukas stop. I've never been disappointed with either....

Isn't Lukas a "superstore" with location in Denver and St Louis as well as KC? Hardly seems like a "small business in the area"
