I will say that I think CCA makes some solid beers, some very good (only been there a couple times but have been fairly impressed). Nowhere near the quality or flavor of Beachwood, though.

Wow, Eagle Rock has been in business for 60 years!!! Why did they just sell a 4th anniversary beer then?

I have to wonder why people still think Golden Road is a joke. I didn't have any of their stuff before they replaced their head brewer but everything I've had from them since then has ranged from above average to great.

I have to agree. Wolf Among Weeds is one of my go to beers. Everybody I work with, beer geeks or not, thinks it is fantastic. 2020 and Heal the Bay are really good too.

Golden Road is no longer the joke of LA craft beers. Its good. Not the greatest or great. Definitely better than before. I will def go back to the brewery/tasting room for their food and beers. Still haven't tried the 2020.

And they were the first craft brewing company in LA too...

The content of that article is somehow even worse than the selections.

    Egregious errors are egregious.

Would make them the first craft brewery anywhere in that case...

    + @PG2G too...

We've had this discussion in the Pacific forum several times. Don't really get the hate toward Golden Road anymore when it comes to the beer (pushing other stuff aside, which we're not discussing here). Wolf Among Weeds is also a go-to selection for me, and their custom IPAs are consistently great, too.

You all need to try Golden Road Cross The Pond. I was shocked how great it is.

I missed it the last time it was there. Did read about it, though. Sounded legit.

I strongly suspect that somebody writing for a douchebag publication like that does not want to consider Long Beach as being "LA", which is why Beachwood was left out.

If Belmont Brewing was on the list, that is in Long Beach.

Then this makes no sense at all, unless the "BBQ" threw the writer off.

I agree Claremont Craft Ales is a very solid, up & comer brewery making some very good beers and I have been impressed with their progress. It should be known though that the writer of the article in question resides in Claremont and does not appear to have any noteworthy craft beer credentials.

Take the article for what it's worth.
