What are some breweries that brew fantastic versions of each of these styles:

    Stouts
    IPAs
    Saisons
    Sours

I feel like most breweries focus on just a couple of those styles, and very few do them all and well. One brewery that jumps out at me that does them all great is Hill Farmstead. Trillium has added themselves to that list as well. Many of the other top rated breweries tend to skip one whether it's Russian River (stouts), Side Project (IPAs), Toppling Goliath (sours).

I'm sure I'm missing some here. What are some breweries that do it all and well.

I'd think that Wicked Weed and Tired Hands would have to be up there.

Not to turn this into a Massachusetts love fest, but I'd add Night Shift as well. Great APA (Whirlpool), IPA (Morph), IIPA (Santilli), Stouts (Relajo), Porter (Elevensies), Sour (Simple Plum), Barrel (El Lechedor in Apple Brandy), I could keep going but....

Where's the love for New York? I'm gonna have to throw Grimm out there in the equation.

I thought about changing the wording but it sounded weird haha. I have love for all styles, but this particular conversation came up with my friends so wanted to put it out there.

According to most of the new "boutique" breweries opening these days this is all you need to make to be in the hype game. Around here that means Other Half, Grimm and even SingleCut that started out mostly making lagers (b/c the owner liked them).

Now if we wanted to talk about which are the best breweries that can really do it all - I'd say Sierra Nevada and Barrier (NY local).

I think of Bell's, Founders, Sierra Nevada, Troegs, Stone, and i'm sure many more that make above average beer across mostly all styles they produce.

Close but impossible to do. Certain ingredients are contracted exclusively for certain breweries.

And those American sour beers, just can't hold up to Cantillion. There is manufactured sour ale beer and then there is the genuine stuff.

I really think it's too much to ask for any brewery to do everything well. Nobody expects this of a restaurant. Does anyone even want to go to a steak, sushi, Indian Food, Chinese food, Mexican food, Italian food, French food, burger place?

Hill Farmstead does everything they do well in my opinion. Jack's Abby does well with a wide range of lagers, from traditional German styles to 3x hopped monsters.

"Doing it all" implies well rounded skills which is admirable. While I find some brewers consistently top the high bar with different products (Bells) in truth I'm mainly interested in how well they did the one I'm holding.

Not sure about "doing it all", but for a wide variety of brews which are pretty darn good:
    Deschutes & Sierra Nevada

Pipeworks...except perhaps with the sour part. They have a few Berliner Weisses, but I've honestly never been impressed with them :slight_frown:
Also Almanac, Avery, and Marz Community Brewing :grinning:

I agree 100% with the statement of @HuskyHawk: “Hill Farmstead does everything they do well in my opinion.”

And just to re-enforce that Hill Farmstead produces a lot of different styles of beer including styles not particularly popular with beer geeks (e.g., Mary – German Pilsner).

    Cheers!
