Wicked Weed definitely has solid entries in all of those categories. I have the most access to them, obviously, but if all the breweries went bankrupt except them I think I would be ok.

I'd agree, Sean Hill has it down pat, some guys just have a knack for doing everything well. The remote part has no bearing on the quality, if the beer was mediocre you'd never ever hear of Greensboro Bend.

That's tough. Don't know any breweries that are top tier in all categories

    - Sierra Nevada: Top tier pilsners, german/ european styles, stouts, etc. Can't make excellent hoppy beer.
    - Stone: excellent hoppy beer, everything else...
    - Firestone Walker: some of the best strong ales and barrel aged beers in the world. OK hoppy game.
    - Russian River: A+ hops and sours, doesn't brew stouts/ strong ales at all.
    - Sante Adairius: A+ saisons and sours, good pale ales. No stouts/ barleywines.

probably good that certain breweries stick to what they do best.

Silver City has a good variety of styles: IPA, DIPA, pale ale, porter, stout, hefeweizen, scotch ale, oktoberfest, zwickelbier, tripel, Belgian strong dark, wild ales, and others. WA only though.

Maybe I'm going to spoil a local secret because this brewery has a 4.40 rating here on BA and needs some kudos, but I'm on a 4 week pub crawl now and just visited Drake's Brewing in San Leandro, CA, today, and WOW! I'll even go out on a limb and say that this is the BEST brewery that I have ever visited as far as excellence in their styles which do go across the board as far as the OP's style-strength requirement. (And I have Bell's Brewery sitting 20 miles from my front door in Michigan.)

Sorry, locals, but your secret is out.

Well, Trillium does amazing hoppy ales, amazing sours and really good stouts. People like their saisons, too. Would be interesting if they ever decided to take a crack at a Pilsner.

Another one - they're all lager, but span a huge range of tastes - is Jack's Abby. Their hoppy lagers are phenomenal (love Excess) and their barrel aging program is excellent - I'd put BA Framinghammer variants up against almost anything else. Their core offering of lagers is phenomenal, and House Lager should be the go-to easy-drinking lager for everyone in their distro.

They don't do sours, though... and, again, everything is a lager.

I'm shocked there hasn't been a mention of Fatheads yet. They've medaled in a bunch of categories in various competitions

    "Sour" isn't a style.

Personally I've no time for a brewery that can't brew a decent Dark Mild and Light Ale.

Grodziskie/Grätzer shouldn't be sour. Any brewery that makes a sour version is clueless.

Victory does a good job with most of their beer. The ones that aren't homeruns are usually still a decent stab at the style. I don't think I've had one Victory beer that I was truly dissatisfied with.

Beachwood BBQ and Beachwood Blendery have everything and do it all well:

Now that the Blendery is fully functional and releasing American-style lambics, I can't think of a more diverse brewery. I guess the only gripe might be that they still do traditional West Coast IPAs and haven't jumped on the fruit juice IPA hype train yet. I don't think they need to get involved in that business though.

Doing it all implies a lot of different things. If we are talking technical skill and ability to brew all styles of beer in an extremely high quality fashion then I would have to go with The Catskill Brewing Company. They are local to me and self distribute but WOW is their beer amazing.

If we are talking about brewing solid beers that incorporate adjuncts I would say that (and I know that some of you will fight me on this) Magic Hat does very well. Although all of their beers aren't "world class", they are good overall. They really know how to punch the adjuncts into their beer and hit the mark.

JA does do sour beers btw. Some have been quite good. The overwhelmong taste of lager yeast ruins many of them for me.

Some of the SN hop forward releases have been pretty damn good, like Hop Hunter, Hoptimum, their fresh hop releases and of course Torpedo! They are in my opinion, the best well rounded brewery out there and always seem to deliver a very good product. Will have to see if they get into the sour game...but if they do I'd assume a basic good tasting kettle sour.

If you want to check out a Billings, MT brewery that does everything well I suggest Carter's on Montana Avenue. I've had several first time beers there.

I am in Regenburg Germany, and we had stopped into the Craft Bottleshop here (it is a thing now), and had some beers with the owner. Gose came up and we said it has taken off in the US. He said he had the one from Westbrook, made a face, and said it was like drinking sea water - not good. So that is from a guy who drinks the German made Goses.

I've never had the one from Westbrook, but I have had some others from the US where salt seems to be too high.
