Howdy Folks! I know threads like this pop up all the time, but I couldn't find a recent thread that focused on Baltimore Brewpubs. I'll be there April 3-6 for work and will have some free time to check out probably 2 or 3 breweries. I like all styles but gravitate more towards flavorful session beers rather than big barrel aged stuff. Thanks!
I haven't been, but I've heard good things about Peabody Heights. I've had a few of their beers though and was pleasantly surprised.
if you hit Union in Hampden, you can walk like a block or two to Waverly as well... and Woodberry kitchen is a good restaurant nearby with a good taplist.. near the Harbor East area, Heavy Seas has a nice brewpub, and not too far from there Stillwater Artisinal has Of Lover and Regret, their HQ but a restaurant featuring a lot of their beers as well as others...
Depending on what day of the week, the hours for Union may/may not suit you. Open 5-10 on TH/F and noon-5 on SA/SU. Convenient from the light rail as is Waverly (beers have improved recently). Also Blue Pit BBQ and Birroteca are easy walks from either brewpub. Not a brewpub, but it would be a shame if you're a beer lover and miss a trip to Max's on Broadway. Enjoy the trip!
If you're downtown I'll second or third Brewer's Art for a brewpub, one of Baltimore's originals, cool space, solid+ to very good beer and food. You'll find Max's offer a broad selection of local beers as well as another 80 or so drafts from all over the world as well as a thousand bottles or so. These 2 spots are must visits for any Bmore first visit. Union brews some really good beer and has a Portland Ore. brewery feel with local food trucks but limited hours. Enjoy, I do!
