I honestly feel bad for anyone too "manly" to take a bubble bath - if your masculinity is so fragile that doing anything with remotely feminine connotations in the privacy of your own home will shatter it, then i'm sorry. (If you just don't like bubble baths, whatever, to each their own).

Now for some serious analysis. Unlike the shower beer, which usually comes after some sort of Sunday outdoor activity (particularly mowing the lawn) and lends itself to lighter styles (pilsners, helles lagers, goses and maybe a session ipa), the bubble bath beer is reserved for a night after a long day of work, so, in my opinion you should treat yourself to something with a big flavor - lambics, big stouts (particularly coffee/vanilla/chocolate), tripels and quads, or an IIPA with alot of juicy/citrus notes.

When I take a bubble bath I prefer bath salts to beer.

    Just my opinion, though.

I have to defend the OP since I have found beer in the bath to be the ideal night cap, for years and years. Of course with some aged cheddar and Utz pretzels and the crunchy vegetable of your choice. Listen to the BBC. The beer? Anything frothy and cold makes a nice contrast with the hot water. I had Modern Times' Booming Rollers last night but something stronger to sip for that last beer is good too. Bubbles are optional!

Me either. Probably per-Kindergarten. Plenty of hot tub beers however.

I love a good bath and Sixpoint Jammer gose has been my favorite sudsy accompaniment! I especially enjoy the days I can just sit and look out the window into a bright sunny sky and listen to a sweet jam all while chillaxing in the tub.

I feel so bad for you...

I personally take a bubble bath like once a week, typically Fridays, which is lower body power day in my routine, so chances are I'll be in said bath within a few hours of squatting 2.5x my body weight, sumo dead for twice my weight, and conventional deads for 2.5. So tell me again why I'm losing my man card?

Agreed. I also think an exception should be made if there's an attractive female involved.

As an BBA (bubble bath advocate) this might be my favorite post of all time.
A super effervescent saison, prickly sour, or silky barrel aged stout would be my choice.

To everyone who said saisons, I agree. Excellent bubble bath beer. Don't do IPAs in the tub unless they are smaller format , such as the Resin last night. But I tend to have my "special treat" beers in the tub, which are usually bombers. And the IPAs can be So enjoyable after being open an hour or so.

And I do think hot tub beer discussion is allowable here. All the same principles apply. It's hot, relaxing , and you're submerged in water.

as far as being manly, every society since the dawn of time has looked at a man's ability to reproduce has a sign of masculinity. I've got 3 kids under 5. So I'm going to guess that no amount of bubbles can take away my manliness.

natural hot springs are a trip as well, but I haven't been to one of those in years.

You sir, deserve a bubble bath! I actually got into bubble baths because of my kids. Gave them one once, and I was like "hmm....this doesnt seem too bad" , and then had one myself after they were all in the bed. Its really relaxing. Even if I have a game on or something, I will do chores or projects while I watch. In the bath, you are forcing yourself to just relax and do nothing for a while and have a much deserved break from those kiddos. very quiet, and you know you dont get much quiet.

Sorry for the threadjacking but I don't know the answer to OP - except that it would be a bottle, not a can because, when I'm naked in the tub, I want something I can defend myself with - but I do know that the best beer to drink at work without being caught is Sixpoint's The Crisp, because the can fits easily in a shirt sleeve and, really, I don't think we need to talk about how I know this.

Hmm. Thanks for reminding me I need a bubblebath soon. I'll have to research the possibilities.
I'm guessing it would be a lambic though.

If I was to do so, it would be a heavy, alky, sipper. To be honest, in a bubble bath or hot tub I'm with my wife and I ain't got drinking on my mind!
