Elevated is an amazing IPA, seek it out!
Love Swami's IPA and Two Hearted is right up there, but the one that blew my mind, first time I had it was Ten Fidy. It's a little can with a huge stout monster inside.
Honorable mentions, Hop Nosh, Gubna, Hop Shock, Old Chub and Big Swell.
Need to...try this. Wonder if they distribute in CA.
Jai Alai and Old Chub
Hoperation overload from Destihl is BY FAR the best IPA, double, or imperial that I have had in a can. IPA's are best suited for a can-to-mouth beer, but the cigar city/Sierra maibock collaboration was dinamite! That being said, Oskar blues doesn't make a bad beer.
There have been a lot of great ones mentioned so far. Maybe I missed them but I'll add Two Hearted and Revolution Anti-Hero.
I wish! None of the canned beers I love are distributed here..
Jai Alai, Lomaland, Ten Fidy
Tocobaga by a pretty wide margin.
Old Chub and ten fidy. Any other recommendations are incorrect.
Oh, it's fantastic too, but if I was forced to choose 3, those would be it!
The answer is Ten Fidy. It's the outlier. All of the others mentioned are IPA's or DIPA's. It's a mind blowing Imperial Stout that you just don't expect out of a can. I do love some Two Hearted out of the 16 oz can in the summer, but Ten Fidy wins this race.
Best canned beer I've had is Surly Furious.
I'm thirding this...just tried it tonight for the first time and its amazing. Technically the best beer I've had in the can considering I've only had gandhi bot in growlers.
Tallgrass Brewing, Manhattan Kansas. Anything from them.
Sooooo...If I say I think all your beers are terrible, will you send me a big box to prove me wrong? Pleeeaase?
Fremont Session Pale
Bale Breaker Field 41
Most definitely Fort George 3-Way IPA.
Don't doubt me...
I've had each and every of your canned beers. I'm being honest. Your beers are good. Just not to those levels. Obviously I've struck a chord. What I actually meant is you hype up in the release thread the whole "mad Scientists" thing, that was what I found laughable. No big deal, you just do a forum commercial way of doing things.
A company that props themselves up in their name always makes me suspicious.
Fort George 3-Way IPA (Boneyard/Block 15)
Pretty sure Miller Lite, Bud Light, or Coors Light would answer this question. For myself, it would be Miller Lite out of these options.
Yeah, in the West: Fort George 3-Way IPA (Boneyard/Block 15) by a long mile
In terms of overall lineups, Oskar Blues takes the top of the hill.
Best I've ever had from a can is Heady Topper. Next would be Ten Fidy then Jai Alai IPA.
Depends on whether you are being disingenuous - we don't want to reward bad behavior ;-)
Is that right? Been in the beer business since 1999 and that is when I was first on BeerAdvocate.com, before there was (and I was) "Sixpoint."
Of course, many people were still learning how to use the internet at that time, and these message boards on BA only had a few hundred active users. But if you were on this site you'd remember I was on the forums before Sixpoint was even launched, doing things in the same tone and manner as I still am in 2014.
There's nothing commercial about it - this is as grassroots and OG as it comes, son.
Global Warmer coming back this year?
Surly Furious, HD'R, Nebraska IPA, and SNPA because someone keeps my cooler full and I never quite finish them all.
Sixpoint resin is top notch. Heady is great, but the hype is a little redic at this point. It's a great brew, but not for what people want for them
Whatever can that happens to be in my hand at the time...
I'm really into the session beers right now so CCB Invasion, Founders All Day, Terrapin Hi-5. Definitely got to mention CCB Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale, which is great in a can.
Fiddlehead Second Fiddle, A new batch will be released Thursday Aug. 7th
Abrasive by a length. (Never tried Heady).
Honorable mention goes to Sculpin, Ten Fidy, Jai Alai, Bale Breaker's Topcutter, and Great River's Farmer Brown.
Was disappointed in the canned Two Hearted I tried. Usually Love the beer, but it's tasted off the times I had it in a can.
DC Brau - On the Wings of Armageddon
Westbrook - Gose
DC Brau - The Citizen
Stillwater Artisanal - Classique
Union Craft - Duckpin
Here in CNy we have Snapperhead IPA from Butternut. Exceptional.
Jackie O's Chomolungma
Oskar Blues; Old Chub, Ten Fidy, Mama's Lil Yella
Revolution; Eugene & Anti-Hero
I'm liking the craft can revolution. Used to look down on cans early on, until I realized that no light hits the finished product. Not to mention unless it's an AAL cheapy the craft cans more often than not get poured into a glass.
Just got a can as an extra, outstanding IPA
