So been by a lot of places including closed for business, but wondering what is best bar to post up and try all the locals
Best bar, IMO, is House of Brews. They have an amazing bottle selection, with some quality taps. However, if you just want local beer, hit Bowens Island for dinner. 12 taps, all local.
If you want strictly local/SC beer, go to Homegrown Brewhouse in Summerville, about 20-25 minutes up the road. They've got over 40 taps, around 35 or so are from SC. The rest are usually sours. They serve in the proper glass and you can get a sample size, 10oz, or 16oz. It's worth the trip. There's good food in Summerville too, including Perfectly Franks.
I stopped by CFB when we were in Charleston and enjoyed it greatly plus its walking distance to historical old town area.
Total wine, Piggly Wiggly (James Island on Maybank and also the Northbridge location), and House of Brews in Mt. P.
I second house of brews if you're just looking for drinks for sure. For great drinks and food id say Bowens island genes haufbrau and the griffon
I was in House of Brews when I was down there for the BAMC release and it was an awesome set up. Weird, but awesome. Found a '12 Black Ops in there, they had a calvados barrel aged Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, and a nice amount of Tilquin Quetsche. The entire allotment of Quetsche to the Raleigh-Durham area was 6 375s and 3 750s, so I was pretty happy to see plenty of 375s sitting around in HOB. Nice guys too, the owner is the son of the owners of Harrika's Brew Haus in Cedar Point, NC I believe.
