Jackie O's Dark Apparition conditioned on vanilla and coffee beans is the best one I've ever had, And the Bourbon Barrel version is even better!

Haven't seen it in a while but Atwater had a double VJ porter was awesome when I had it a few years ago.

You won't find it outside of NJ, but Carton Regular Coffee is a 12% Cream Ale brewed with a Coffee. One of the more unique beers I have had and definitely qualifies as a Coffee Vanilla Imperial (even though it's not a porter).

Yep. This is what I came on to say. Unlike V@S, they do it the hard way with real vanilla and coffee beans. The difference is remarkable.

You'll have to come to Santa Cruz but SARA Vanilla Joe is probably the best coffee vanilla beer I have ever had by a lot. I know its not imperial but, daaaaammmmn.

This thread is starting to look like a Victory at Sea promotional ad.

I'll throw out a few non VaS options...
    1) Dieu du Ciel - Peche Mortel is incredible! Has some vanilla notes.
    2) Founders - KBS

And just picked up a Great Divide Espresso Oak Aged Yeti - looking forward to trying that although that will be more forward on the coffee.

Haven't had a lot of the ones listed here but HF Birth of Tragedy is incredible. To a lesser extent FW Velvet Merkin is worth a try as well.

Most of the Bourbon BA beers have great vanilla aroma and flavor. Its not coffee like but Caldera Mogli was sooooo good. Vanilla and chocolate like taste was amazing.

Do you find that the vanilla drops off faster than other flavors? Im new to cellaring and have been told that my coffee and vanilla stouts should be drank sooner than later.

I know haha. What's this victory at sea that sounds so good. Oh wait. I've had it haha.

Yes vanilla does. Not sure about if u store the beer safely though. I just picked up some year old victory at sea to do a side by side with my 3 months old and the vanilla is almost gone. Still good though. Just different. Kind of like celebration, dosent really change for the worse, just different.

It sounds like 4 beans and v@s are actually some of the best. I'm cool with that

I've read the OP. There is no other imperial porter (vanilla coffee style) which tops V@S. Yes, I've not had 'em all but I stand by this statement just the same  Save yourself the time, money & frustration in trying to determine otherwise. Drink V@S!
