Small Bar, really? I'd say Maria's and Local Option should be well above Small Bar...I enjoy Small Bar, but come on.
Oh good. Another list! What do we know about lists... It feels good to make one. Once you start you have to cut it off at some point but the longer you make it the better you feel. No two peoples look alike. Everybody likes theirs but looking at someone elses usually brings derision. lists are like... lists are like....
They didn't double up on any categories, Maria's is in their Top 10 Best Bars and Smallbar Division is in one having to do with food.
Local Option didn't make any lists, its exclusion erases all credibility of the list in my eyes. I would rank it as the #1 craft beer bar in Chicago, hands down, not even close. In case anyone cares, the rest of my top 6 would be Hopleaf, Map Room, Fountainhead, Maria's, and Bad Apple (which somehow also didn't make any of the lists). edit: sp
After having a: Boon 2004 Mariage Parfait, 2009 3F Oude Gueze, 2012 BCBS of draft (which btw tastes even better now that it's had a few months on it) all in one night, AND crab quesadillas i'd have to agree that LO not making this list is a crime against nature.
I don't care who they left off... Chicago Magazine including Sheffield's and Quenchers in a list of best beer bars is very silly, especially when the list only has 6 beer bars total on it.
