Gonna have to go with dreadnaught on this one. At 9.5% it's not the strong DIPA, but the first three go down like James Brown and then......... I Feeeeel Good! (Da na na na na na na)

I'll put in a vote for Hop Crisis. At just under 10%, the aging on oak spirals make it go down like a cream soda.

I'd have to say Dogfish 90 Minute. The malts and hops make a very balanced heavy beer but no hint of the alcohol. Double Trouble went down way too easy too, I think it was the hop load that hid the alcohol really well in it.

I opened this thread to comment on Double black, although I think it is a bit of on overstatement to say there is no alcohol taste in there whatsoever. To me it has the same heat and alcohol aroma/taste as other imperial stouts in the 10-12% range. I would bet in a blind tasting nobody would think it clocks in at 26%. It is a wonder to behold

I drank the same thing last weekend and said, "Wow, there's a lot of alcohol in this." I even looked it up immediately on here to see how much because I could tell it was high.

I had Clown Shoes Blaecorn Unidragon and I was stunned it was 12.5%. I would have guessed about 8%. Then I had a Ten Fidy and it tasted like it was 15%.

Palo Santo Marron slapped me pretty good - didn't check the ABV until well after drinking...er...some.

Ovila Quad I didn't think was boozy until it and Thanksgiving turkey put me to sleep. Add a vote for Brown Shugga as well - really sneaky little bugger right there. Thought RuinTEN hid the alcohol well also, but it took me an hour to drink it so didn't notice any effects.

To me, it's Gulden Draak at 10.5%. Any other takers?

Rogue Morimoto Imperial Pilsner. Had it on draft and couldn't figure out why it was giving me a buzz until I looked up the ABV.

Second on RuinTen. Had it at Deep Ellum and they had the ABV listed incorrectly. Had two and was feeling it a bit, then looked it up online to find that the ABV was not 6.7%!!

Both this & Special K did hide their alcohol rather well but indeed there was some booze noticeable but not much. They did however both smell quite heavily of alcohol even if you couldn’t taste most of it.
