312 used to be better; it is still decent, but not as good. Harvest Ale was really good last time I had it, now I am curious how it will taste.

Post 34. I've only had it on tap, but it's awesome!

I agree with 312. The first couple times I had it, it had a lot of citrusy/grapefruit favors coming through, now it has no flavor at all.

Green Line is only available on draft in the Chicago metro area. The original poster is from Connecticut. Unless the OP is coming to Chicago or you are sending him a growler of it, he won't be able to try it.

I've tried their Belgian offerings and liked them but what I appreciate most are a couple of their more routine offerings. Their IPA is probably the best readily available example of an English-Style IPA in the US. Honkers is also a very nice English-style ale in the low-moderate strength range. There are not enough good beers that I can find in that niche with any regularity.

The best has got to be: Goose Island Fancy Cherry Bourbon Coconut Party 2000.

Man...Sofie is a fav of mine, just a really nice, flavorful, easy drinking Belgian Saison, with a extra somethin'. Matilda is great, and so is Pere Jacques. Pepe Nero, meh. Not my thing. The IPA is a great English style IPA, and Honkers is a great borderline "session" beer.

Sofie is my fave out of their regular lineup.

My favorite by them 'period' however is the Bramble Rye...that was some phenomenal stuff.

Sorry you find my principles to be lame.

AB-InBev is the enemy of craft beer. I refuse to give them a dollar. If you choose to support them, that is your prerogative.

Goose Island Honkers Ale used to be one of my favorites. Lately I have noticed a decline in the quality. Mainly higher artificial carbonation. One my last purchase I noticed that Honkers was no longer brewed in Chicago but was being contract brewed in New Hampshire. Further investigation revealed that Budweiser bought Goose Island some time ago and they have been imploementing "their changes" over time.

In dissapointment I can no longer drink this once fabulous brew.

The best GI beer is the one you don't drink.
Stop supporting BMC! Unless you want to see craft beer homogenized of course, then go ahead and drink more you freaking sheep.

*disclaimer( I'm dinrk so sorry if this comes off prickish, but fuck BMC

Honker's. Knowing that is often the best <5% in bars makes it a safe and tasty option.

Agree, Pere Jacques is really good, I also enjoy the IPA when it's super fresh - it all depends on your preference of beer style.

No offense to anyone here, but suggesting BCBS & King Henry as a first Goose Island taste (as epic as they are) is a total long shot. Lower the bar a little people, lower the bar!

Juliet and Lolita are great but not regulars BCBS is great also. I have had the mild winter, honkers, sofia, Matilda, brown, and IPA they were all just ok. The BCBS bramble was horrible. I want to try the vanilla and coffee BCBS but I am not gonna hold my breath.

King Henry, BCBS, and Rare blew my mind. Juliet and Lolita were great to me, too. Sofie treated me nice. Honkers is a very good beer. Currently in my posession I have...BCBS, King Henry, Juilet, Lolita, Nightstalker, and Big John. Most of Goose Island's beers are solid and make it to my local store...and I am happy that that's the case.

I really love harvest ale, sofie, and fleur with some age. 2011 is super delicious right now, but i didnt care for it much new. I haven't had a special release I didnt like either.
As a starting point my vote is sofie.
