i love steel toe and lunker is my favorite barleywine to date. aged in templteon rye barrels i believe.

A little bigger would be the anniversary beers from He'brew.
i still have a couple of anniversary 17 which was 17% but drinks like 7.
    Also, does samichlaus count?

oh and cant leave out brewery maker from Jacks Abby. that beer is ridiculous. I have no idea what the official style on that one is

Central Waters Brewers Reserve series, what I have been able to get, has been fantastic:
Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Barleywine (11.5%)
Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale (9.5%)

Parish Brewings Bourbon Barrel Grand Reserve Barleywine is pretty good.

It really is a great beer to set aside for later. I love the way it tastes after a few months! Rock Art doesn't get a lot of hype or love but I've been a fan of their big bottles for years. Great pricing for the quality, too!

No stouts? What's the point then really. Besides, I really wanted to give MILF from Mother's Brewing some love.

Otter Creek/Lawson's collaboration Double or Nothing hits the spot for Barleywine's with big abv.

I'd also suggest Shed's Mountain Ale. Delicious. BA calls it an "English Strong Ale", but it's essentially a Brown Ale on steroids.

The label say Black IPA but on this site it's called American Black Ale

Uinta Dubhe Imperial Black IPA 9.2% ABV
    I really enjoyed it

Way to follow the "No IPA-Imperial IPAs" parameter.

To highlight some excellent beers and breweries that aren't as Hip and Cool as the latest fad thing.

MILF & Winter Grind are my two favorites from Mother's. But other than those two stouts, you can always promote:
    • Holy Mole
    • Backyard Series beers
    • Raspberry Imperial Three Blind Mice
    • Imperial Three Blind Mice Bermuda Style
    • Towhead

Straight to Ale's Unobtanium (Bourbon Barrel Barleywine), Three Floyds' BA Behemoth (Cognac Barrel Barleywine), and Central Waters' Brewer's Reserve Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale are among my favorites. Crooked Line's Labyrinth (Rye Barrel Licorice Quad) was interesting as well.

Brewer's Alley has a brewery only release Strong Ale/Old Ale 8.2% called "New Moon". Usually on cask as well, and quite an amazing beer. Can't beat their pricing either $1.50 for a 5oz sampler / $4 for a 14oz tulip or $13 growler fill.

Oakshire's annual bourbon barrel aged stout, Hellshire, is always worth looking forward to. This past year's vintage- which was a healthy 12%- is on par with the very best beers in the style. I'm really gonna miss them when I have to leave Oregon about a year for graduate school.

Opened a Lakewood Lion's Share IV the other day. It's a brandy barrel aged quad. One of the best beers I've had in quite awhile - looking forward to see how it ages.
