Situation: Pool, can only have cans. 98 degrees today, will be 105 tomorrow. NoVa, so I have a large variety of beer to choose from.

Mission: Have beer to drink at pool in between dips.

Execution: Select a beer for my wife and I, with reasons.

Command and Signal: My wife will not drink Dales, or Fat Tire Amber. DC Brau is a little harsh in 105 heat.

Admin and Logistics: A Total Wine is 1.1 miles away. My wife would love an Oberon Mini-Keg, but they are not here yet.

Please recommend your favorite within the above Op-O, also please do not suggest Bud Light X/Miller/Coor/et al.

Can you get Goose Island? 312 is a great wheat canned beer for the summer!

I agree with her, the Dales is just too much above 95. Fat Tire Amber is nice, but not her thing. Sea Nymph would be great if heavy seas canned. Tell me more about Sierra in the can, please.

I saw a 312 poster in Georgetown today, so that is accessible. How common are the cans?

PS, Hot as heck on M street in the sun today at 95--saw an old lady go down hard--bleeding hard--coming into one of those fancy clothes stores the women love.

They are all over the place here in Illinois- lol. They come in 12 packs.... ask around. A great light american wheat that goes down real easy on a hot day.

SNPA really is the answer. Harpoon Summer Beer wouldn't be bad either.

Paulaner hefe 12 packs are out now. I also like Avery White Rascal for these situations.

White Rascal (or 312 since I didn't know it is sold in cans) is the correct answer. While all the IPA recommendations are delicious choices, they don't answer the mail WRT his wife's style (wheats/wits).

I like the Six Point Bengali Tiger - good citrus smell and hips but not too heavy.

Sweet OPORD, OP. If you can get it, I would recommend Bitter American. Low ABV, and still super tasty. The perfect poolside can.

I agree with some of the other posts. Sierra Nevada Pale is a great choice. Luckily in my area, I've got Surly Hell.
