Big Bad Baptist, at least batch 13, has a ton of chocolate and coffee, and it's an amazing beer to boot. It's not that hard to find either.

They haven't been bottling Kerplunk. :slight_frown:

I'd love to see them expand to a regional level.

Best chocolate stout I've had is 2012 draft Bourbon County Coffee. Yes, BCBCS. Need to try this year's.

Café Royale by Williamsburg Alewerks... real limited distribution though. Per website, eastern/northern VA.

Goose Island Big John has yet to be mentioned?

I thought that was a great imperial chocolate stout, as were many others. Though the 10$ bomber was pricey, once in a while it is in my fridge.

Last night I drank one of my last three remaining 2010 Southern Tier Choklats.

After three years held against its will in a cool dark lonely prison...it tasted like liquid milk chocolate. Spent a couple hours with it and swirled a nice mocha head with each sip.

Do you think it was worth aging? I've decided that I don't want most of my stouts to mellow out. I like how some fresh stouts have that nice sense of hop oil to them. At the same time, some of the imperials really do become smoothly delicious - such as Stone Espresso RIS.

    This.

It's billed as a porter, but god damn the chocolate is sublime and you won't notice that you aren't drinking a stout for long.

    Trust me.

+1 for chocolate yeti as good balance of delicious stout with plenty of chocolate. I think I still prefer FBS, but it's not as chocolaty

The place by me has tons of Big John for $10 a bomber. I'm not a fan. Too bitter and alcohol was noticeable in a bad way

I totally agree with drinking them fresh as well. There's never a bad time, but in this case, it was worth aging. I got lucky as I was in the mood for rich, smooth, creamy chocolate.
