MA - HARPOON IPA
For NC, I might have to go with GreenMan Destroyer (IIPA) and Jade (IPA)
MA: Treehouse Julius and Very Green
NY: Ithaca Flower Power
Michigan: Bell's Two Hearted Ale (IPA)
I'd go with chillwave over eerie, LOVE chillwave!
Of states I've sampled a lot from:
PA: Helltown's Idle Hands or Victory Hop Ranch (you may even be able to throw in a vote for Voodoo's Good Vibes)
OH: Fat Head's Hop JuJu
IN: Permanent Funeral
I'd beg to differ....
SC: COAST Boy King Double IPA
Dafuq? You serious?
Also...although their not IPA's, I would also nominate Jack's Abby's Kiwi and Mass Rising
FL = Swamphead Big Nose IPA
Just got one of those last week, haven't popped it yet, so I'll have to take your word for it.
RI- Proclamation Tendril
VA DIPA: Smartmouth Notch 9
either Ithaca Flower Power or Barrier Money
What do we thinkg
I think the Alchemist makes better IPAs then Heady. At least two, possibly 3.
Well 07xxx is available in cans. Granted their distribution footprint is not very large. So I think that qualifies.
Juju is Ohio's best, but there are many great options...
077xx is a double, 7.8% and is a full production beer in cans. It meets every requirement.
MA: for me their are a bunch but top 3: Tree House Julius, Trillium Congress Street, Trillium Mettle
NY: Peekskill Higher Standard
Agreed. Trillium's Congress St is in the conversation. Also Wormtown's Be Hoppy.
DIPA: I've developed a fondness for Wormtown's Buddha Juice.
And some might say Congress Street IPA from Trillium. For me it doesn't matter, I live here and still don't really have access to them. The OP said:Has to be in a can or bottle, and readily available. Of those, Wormtown Be Hoppy would win here in MA, but even it is scarce, which would perhaps lead me to Wachusett Larry.
NY DIPAs - Rushing Duck War Elephant, Newburgh Hop Drop, Peekskill Higher Standard. The smaller guys are making the better beers right now.
PA/Pittsburgh, Thunder Hop from Church Brewery
Trillium is putting out awesome stuff right now.
IPA Hop Mountain from Dominion I had it fresh from the brewery and thought it was damn fine.
DIPA 90 minute from DFH Have to give a bit of love to DFH.
Diamond Bear Two Term...........Not great but the best in state readily available
Not Fresh Squeezed. It is good, but Boneyard Hop Venom is better by a mile. I hear great things about Notorious, but have not have the privilege yet. They are not bottled, but are readily available on tap.
LOL, well played.
NY: IPA - Barrier Money, DIPA - Other Half Green Diamonds, TIPA - Other Half All Green Everything
PtE is not the best, it's the most coveted.
IL- DIPA Pipeworks (Ninja vs. Unicorn, Citra Ninja ect...)
IPA Half Acre Beer Hates Astronauts
Double Daisy Cutter
MA- Another vote for Congress St - not the easiest to get but a lot easier to do than Treehouse
RI - Foolproof King of the Yahd
Haven't had freak so I will say Hop Drop for NC.
CT: For DIPA it's definitely Gandhi Bot or Coriolis
For IPA it's likely Fuzzy Baby Ducks or possibly Supernaut
IPA Fatheads Head Hunter / or Columbus IPA
DIPA Columbus Bodhi / Fatheads Hop Juju
I'm going to have to disagree. Great beer but it's a session ale not a true IPA or DIPA. It has to be Hardywood Great Return or Triple Crossing/The Answer Street Cred for me
Those from out of state. No outstanding Ipa/dipa's brewed in Arkansas. Love me some Pliny, Apoclypse cow, West Coast Ipa, Elevated, Double Jack, Sculpin, Mars, Mycernary, etc...
Reading is a skill. From the original post "Has to be in a can or bottle, and readily available, no limited brews, etc."
NC: Hop Drop n Roll #1, then Wicked Weed's FoN
