I definitely am not that attuned to the world of IPA's just yet, but my palate is slowly starting to except them more and more every time I drink one. With that said, I'll write you a small list of (pretty much all Michigan brewed, since I try to pay my wonderful brewing state as much homage as possible) my favorites!

1.) Kuhnhenn DRIPA - This is my personal favorite double IPA, and as the top 250 shows, many other people consider it top tier. Extreme citrusy treat to the taste buds, not overly bitter or piney!
    2.) Founders Centennial IPA
    3.) Dark Horse Crooked Tree
    4.) Greenbush Brother Benjamin
    5.) Kuhnhenn Aldeberan Belgian IPA
6.) Greenbush Anger (A delicious black IPA)
7.) Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
    8.) Stone IPA
9.) Oskar Blues G'Knight (Imperial Red IPA)
10.) Stone Sublimely Self Righteous (Another black IPA, but more on the florally side as opposed to the roastier Anger)

    Good luck on your journey!

Best IPA : Peekskill Brewery's Eastern Standard/1 day old growler of Ithaca Flower Power.

Double IPA : Split between Lawsons Double Sunshine and HF Ephraim, with Heady right there too. Yeah, VT does hops right.

Hill Farmstead Double Citra was the best beer I've ever had(my opinion)... Pliny the Younger is a very close second.

FW Double Jack.. Its availability makes it better than Pliny or Heady.

Permanent Funeral may be the best I've ever had, though..

I don't think I have noticed this beer mentioned earlier, but Sixpoint Resin is one of my favorites. I definitely wouldn't call myself a hop head, but this beer is excellent. I got a twelve pack of Celebration too and will probably want more of that before Winter is over

I opened a growler of fresh Just Outstanding last night and was wondering to myself why this wasn't in my top 5 list I previously submitted. That also made me think about the Racer X and Enjoy By that I had just picked up. Except for the one or two exceptionally good IPA's or DIPA's I've had, like Citra and PtE, the next tier is really close and there are some brewerys that seem to nail it just about everytime, like Alpine and KRBC.

Surly Abrasive was the highest rated IPA I've ever had but it was not my favorite (lacks sessionability - I don't care what you think, being able to have more than one without being overwhelmed is a concern!)I've got a lot more to try as well. That being said, the 5 most memorable for me are:2 hearted, lucid foto, summit saga (superior drinkability if not a knock-out in the flavor dept.) hoptimum, and either abrasive or Ranger. I haven't had Ranger in a long time, and it was one of my first serious IPA experiences, if not my first IPA. I'll have to pick up a 6er sometime soon and give a review.
