Not using search is one thing, but there's an entire thread on this subject just a few threads down the page.

    Shit, I've become that guy.

Ok, I'm going to try and make up for being a dick earlier. You need to know that "anywhere in L.A." is far larger than you can imagine. It can take 2 hours to cross town at certain times of the day. You probably want to focus on the West side (several Whole Foods locations), or possibly head east toward Long Beach. Near LAX, go to the El Segundo tasting room for great IPAs on draft and in bottles. I'd recommend going to Long Beach and visiting Beachwood for some of the best beers, in all styles, in the area (on tap and growlers). While in LB, you can go to Stearns Liquor for bottles to bring home. Others are probably going to recommend Smog City. If you have a little more time, head out to Anaheim for Noble Ale Works (drink Tongue Tickles and Naughty Sauce) and Bottle Logic for draft and bottles to go.

Across the street from Adam's is Select Beer Store. You can find the info in the "Places" page of this site. Another possible place beyond these two is Whole Foods in El Segundo or Beverage Warehouse in West Culver City/West LA.

Awesome thanks everyone! Anyone know where they might have Russian River sours pretty well stocked?

It's pretty much luck of the draw and timing with RR sours. They make it down here so seldom these days. Unless you happen to stop in on a delivery day for them you probably won't see them.

Also, to the OP, there are plenty of L.A.-area brews that you should take a look at instead. Not that RR sours aren't great (they are). But plenty of great beer in Los Angeles and Orange counties worth grabbing (and all much more sufficiently stocked).

If you want a to make a small trip around LA proper to look for bottles I would hit up Ramirez Liquor, Bills Liquor in Atwater, and Sunset Beer Co. Sunset Beer Co has a few taps and allow you to drink their bottles/cans for a corkage fee.

Lastly, delivery day for beer in LA seems to be Friday so that would be your best shot at RR. In my experience.

it all depends on what you are really looking for, and your price ranges. Since you are at LAX, Beverage Warehouse is the best bet, just north in Westwood is Wally's Wine, which I stop in weekly as I work a few block north of. The selection is small there, but well curated and the focus is on high quality, rather than quantity. Unfortunately , they had a small amount of RR when I was there on Wed, but by now it is gone. Everyone says Whole Foods, but I have never been so I cannot comment. Ramirez and Sunset Beer Co are fairly close to each other and down town so they have good options. All the Vendome locations are good, but the Beverly Hills one would have the easiest access to you. The best overall selection in town is probably Total Wine at the Northridge location, but it is mostly quantity over quality there. If you want to get single 12 oz bottles and just get a lot of different beers, that would be your place.

As suggested earlier, since you are at LAX go to El Segundo Brewing. It is 5-10 minutes from the terminals. in the last 6-8 months they have really hit their stride and are rapidly moving up my list of favorite local breweries.

don't waste your 1 night in LA driving around really far, is my advice. take uber to some of the west side breweries mentioned. if it's a week night many of them close at 8 or 9. except Beachwood which is open later. enjoy yourself!
