What say you all? Session? Cali Lager? Beers that can be had easily...Pivo Pils is hard to get!

Sam Adams Boston Lager has always been up there for me. Not just b/c of availability but depending on the locale it might be the only "real" option in the sea of same-ness with all the other American Adjunct Lagers.

As far as easy to get and low ABV, fresh Sierra Nevada Summerfest is surprisingly enjoyable. For something stronger, Ballast Point Fathom IPL is solid.

If we're going purely "lager," along with SA Boston Lager, I'd throw in Anchor Steam. The oldest, most widely available, and best you can get. Great for getting friends into craft.

Weinstephaner is amazing, i'm pretty sure it's easy to find at any place that sells craft beer, brooklyn pilsner is a good value too, i prefer it to sam adams boston.

Too many German ones to mention, although I'm sure freshness can be an issue in some places. Schlenkerla Urbock is my all-time fave, though.

On the domestic front, I'd have to agree with Summerfest and Anchor California Lager, and maybe throw in SA Noble Pils as well. There are better ones out there, but not as widely distributed.

My top choices would be Weihenstephaner Original for a traditional take, Sam Smith Organic for the granola and Birkenstock set, Brooklyn Lager for the amber lager lover, Weihenstephaner Korbinian for the doppelbock drinker and Victory Prima Pils for pilsner peeps.

If you're close to TN, I'm a big fan of Schlafly's Summer Lager and Koelsch, too. Cheers

Victory Prima Pils for sure, but I'm admitedly a pretty big fan of Brooklyn Lager, though I feel like it doesn't get much love.

Depends on what you mean by "widely available." Assuming we're talking about national or near-national, year-round distribution (yeah, I'm talking to you, guy who suggested Summerfest and Ballast Point), for draft, I'd have to agree with Sam Adams. Bottled, I'd go with Prima Pils.
