Walked 2 stores refrige for them but it was worth it.

 

Stopped in a store I usually don't stop in as it is a little out of the way and it is a bit on the dusty side. Found 3 four packs of Bourbon County Brand Stout all by their lonesome in the dark corner of an aisle, for 26.00 each, not exactly cheap, but...

As an aside, the funny thing is it wasn't all that long ago this beer was on shelf all year. Don't know how it is now by where you all live, but anymore it is hard to get this beer around here.

 

Well, I don't do brewery releases so all my beer that isn't from a trade comes from my bottle shop. Abyss, BCBS, Darkness, Double Crooked Tree (still sits on the shelves there almost all year), Rare, lots of good stuff.

 

found 6 abyss 10"s sitting in a cooler last December, 2008 BCBS for $5.99 a bottle

 

very difficult to find gems on any regular basis in the greater LA/OC area. so a couple recent suprises have been

(2x) 2006 Double Bastard
2008 Mephistopheles
grabbing Parabola in early October less than a mile from my house

and my favorite, having the cashier announce over the intercom, "Can someone bring up a 6-Pack of Pliny for Mo!" during the busiest hour of the day. I still can't believe I made it out the door in one piece

 

These days when I even find Pliny on the shelf near me I am happy.

 

Like a boss. It's because they saw me though.

Levitation will tell you and I definitely agree, finding any special release FW in SoCal is a great find.

FW-14 on sale for $16 walking distance from my house last April. still kicking myself for not buying them out.

Livin the dream

 

While traveling through Kentucky last month I found 27 bottles of bourbon county RARE at one store.
It was exciting.

 

Cantillon fou foune. Lou pepe Kriek 07. Mamouche. Iris 07. 2 cases of kbs. Several cases of hopslam.

Not all at one place or quite all at the same time.

 

A great find for me was the Brooklyn Monster ale 2002 & 2003 that I found last year. It was really great having a Barelywine that was that old.

 

Found some King Henry at a store once. Just chillin' on a shelf.

 

Lots of awesome beers there, but be careful with that '09 Abyss. There's a very good chance it's infected.

 

...I stopped by there and got 19. Apparently they had more, but didnt have enough shelf space. That happens all the time...

 

Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus among many other fine craft beers at a liquor store in east LA. totally bizarre. All they sold was craft beer and TONS of tequila.
