For years my favorite milk stout has been Duck Rabbit Milk Stout from Farmville, NC. But recently I discovered an offering from a little-known brewery in Largo, FL named Barley Mow... their offering is called Maven Milk Stout, and it is absolutely delicious. I'm not quite ready to say it supplants Duck Rabbit in my opinion, but it does create an interesting conflict in my mind.

I would like to hear feedback from others on this subject. What are some other worthy offerings out there for this style? And I would like to hear some other opinions on just what could be the best Milk Stout out there. And if you agree on Duck Rabbit, say so... Thank u for reading.

Ain't sayin' it's the best, cuz I haven't tried every Milk Stout, but Left Hand makes a stellar example of the style.

Duck Rabbit does make a good milk stout. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I kind of like Southern Tier 2X Stout as well.

If we venture into "imperial" milk stout territory, Three Floyds Moloko is awfully good. I also liked Stone Xocoveza and hope they bring that back again. The BEST milk stout I ever had was 70K from Against the Grain. A 13% ABV behemoth that was aged for 3 months in Angel's Envy barrels.

Had Duck Rabbit Milk Stout this summer, and it is a stellar example of the style. Moloko from Three Floyds and
Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout are two I would recommend above Duck Rabbit.

Id say left hand. I personally wouldnt classify Xocoveza with regular milk stouts due to the adjuncts

If you're gonna get all adjuncty, I'll say maybe Odell's Lugene chocolate milk stout (though it's a bit heavy/boozy for the style). Fate Brewing out of Arizona has a Candy Bar Milk Stout that tastes like a frickin' Snickers bar. Fun stuff. Samuel Smith's chocolate stout is a classic. Every time I drink it I think it's about to get too sickly sweet, but it never quite gets there.

For straight up milk stout, @tommyguz hooked me up with Lancaster Milk Stout recently and darn if it wasn't a nice brew.

Local favorite Fate's milk stout is fantastic and when they take it up a notch to their Candy Bar milk stout it's like drinking a snickers you can almost chew the peanuts

Not really a fan of most milk stouts. Too light in the mouth and body for my tastes, but Left Hand Milk Stout is great!

I haven't had that much experience with milk stouts, but Terrapin Moo Hoo is pretty good. Ditto Duck Rabbit.
