Best Milwaukee Brewpub?

Downtown? I'd pick Milwaukee Ale House.

Not going to disagree... but I wish there were better options.

 

We don't have too many brewpubs in MKE unfortunately. The Ale House is probably the best bet. There is Rockbottom Brewery, but it's a chain and isn't anything special.

If it were me, I'd go somewhere with excellent food and good beers on tap. Rumpus Room would be my first choice.

 

Do they do lunch?

 

• Kitchen Hours: Mon-Thurs: 4:00pm - 10:00pm
• Fri & Sat: 4:00pm - Midnight
• Sunday: 4:00pm - 9:00pm
• Grab & Go Hours: Mon-Fri: 11:00am - 2:00pm
• Bar Hours: Mon-Thurs: 4:00pm - Midnight
• Fri & Sat: 4:00pm - 1:00am
• Sunday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm

 

This is horribly confusing. Presumably, the kitchen and the bar aren't open until 4pm, but they have "Grab & Go" from 11am-2pm. What the hell does "Grab & Go" mean? Am I allowed to eat there, or am I required to "go?"

 

It's basically a sandwich counter. You can eat in the south half of the restaruant, no taps.

 

Fuck that noise.

 

Aw shitty. I could have sworn I'd been in there for lunch and a couple beers (I lived downtown when I was in college). I must have been thinking about happy hour. Or maybe the hours changed at some point.

 

I think they did have full service lunch at one point.

 

Go to Cafe Benelux next time
