I know "best" is highly subjective, AND the ones I've seen have been largely the same. But, does any place in particular stand out to you? Any places have the 16 oz cans in the selection (Half Acre)?

    Prefer north side/near north/northwest burbs.

    THANKS!

Marianos in Palatine, AH, or Roscoe Village. At times, they've got Daisy Cutter. Sucks as well. Sometimes some surprises. I've picked up TenFidy, Dragons Milk,e.g.

Bottles and cans is decent, anyone know of a store in chi that lets you mix and match any beers 6pack or singles?

Ardmore station in villa park will sell almost anything by single bottle, whatever the 6pk cost is divided by 6 = single bottle cost. Endless mix-six packs of varying cost. They also have a really good selection

Not that they have a massive selection, but Trader Joe's lets you buy anything on their shelves by the bottle, too.

Individually priced bottles > $10/mix six.

Capones has a very nice mix 6 selection. WAY better than any grocery store. Ive seen him have Sculpin, Central Waters BA Scotch, etc.

    Elston just north of Addison

I appreciate what Binny's tries to do with theirs, but wish they would move away from the flat rate for the six pack and do a per-beer-price thing so that they could mix in some imperial offerings. (Right now they'll generally only put beers into the mix that can be purchased for $9.99 per six pack or less, though they make occasional exceptions.)

Of course, the fact that they don't do this means I'll do the half-hour drive to Archer more frequently than I might otherwise....

Looks like castle vav just tripled their mix-6 (which was already pretty large). There is also a coupon thread somewhere on the first page of the forum.

Every time I'm there 80% of that section is empty, leaving only about 6-8 choices (all of which are admittedly good though).

As already noted, Binny's Lincoln Park just doubled (maybe tripled) their mix-a-six selection. $1 off coupon now through the weekend.

Every time I've gone to Bottles/Cans, they let me take stuff from other four/six packs that are on the shelf and add them to my Build Yr Own sixer. And they price everything accordingly so you're paying for that one beer individually rather than the overall flat rate for the six pack. It ends up being a little more expensive, but you get the beers you want, which is great.

Its not EVERYDAY, but Hyvee here ROUTINELY has their mix-a-6 shelf($9.99/sixer) filled with beers that cost more than $9.99 a sixer.

Sometimes its due to somebody breaking a bottle or two in a 6 pack, as was the case with this Expedition stout I found(grabbed 2 bottles, left the other 2 for an employee who said he wanted ém). A lot of the time they just have tastings for their craft beer club and the leftovers get put on the mix six shelf. Its not uncommon to find 4-5 bottles of a 6ér that costs 10.99/11.99.

Its quite nice to try many new things, at less than retail, ha!

Cardinal Liquors in Palatine (formally Dobby's) has a really good mix 6 selection and you don't have to get a full 6 pack if you don't want one. You can buy a single bottle of what's available in the mix 6 section of the cooler (yup, already cold). A lot of popular beers are available too such as the year round FFF, Founders, Ballast Point, etc. Prices range from about $2 to $4 per bottle or so depending on the beer. The options change often but I do believe I've seen Daisy Cutter available.

Mariano's is pretty great for selection vs. value. Last weekend I was there and they had Sucks on sale for $9.49/6 and also had it included in their mix-a-six for $8.99. I bought 10 Sucks and 2 others (just to be honest and call it a mix).

I can't seem to find the picture now but I think it was Monday that Vav tweeted out a picture of it. It went from the (I believe) 1 rack to 3 racks.
