I've recently visited two excellent breweries that have opened their doors in the last year or two. Cellarmaker in San Francisco and more recently J Wakefield in the Wynwood area of Miami. Both breweries in my opinion have world class beer and excellent tap rooms that nobody visiting these areas should miss. I'm just wondering what other new breweries BA's feel the same way about?

I can write knowledgably only about my local scene. My two favorite new breweries in the Twin Cities area are Sisyphus and Fair State, both in Minneapolis, both opened in summer 2014. Sisyphus excels in every style it tackles, and Fair State already is second only to New Glarus in its sour program among Upper Midwestern breweries (and makes very good beers in a variety of other styles as well). I don't hesitate to rank them among my top ten breweries in the state of Minnesota. Both, in my opinion, generally outbrew better known (and also good) local breweries with some national buzz such as Indeed, Steel Toe, and Lift Bridge.

I back you 100% on Cellarmaker. Stopped by there on the walk back from city bottle shop to my hotel. Wasnt up to speed on it, just happened upon it; so happy I did. Some great IPAs and Pale Ales I had there. Aside from the hoppy beers, they had a great BA stout and Saison.

Was there on business for 4 days. Wound up at Cellarmaker 3 of those days to drink more beer. World class for sure.

Frost Beer Works is tiny, but man their Another IPA is tasty. Brewer came from Oskar Blues I think I've heard.

In Denver, Comrade Brewery is killing it. From the get-go, they've knocked each beer out of the park. Super-fantastic IPAs.

    x2 on Comrade Brewery.

Horse & Dragon up in Fort Collins, CO has also been around for a year or so and have been putting out some really good stuff, IMO.

I do love that Cellarmaker is so close to me. Great spot. My buddy was at J Wakefield last weekend and said it was great.

What is your definition of new? If your talking within the past 1-3 years then... Virginia, USA wise:

Port City (Alexandria,VA), Smartmouth (Norfolk, Va,).

There are already a bunch of 'older' breweries locally pumping out world class brew so i'm not going to include them... (but for anyone that's interested, my favorite pros of the region are St. George in Hampton,VA and Williamsburg Alewerks in Williamsburg, VA).

Keep in mind that I haven't even been to many of these new micros, and random ones that pop up seemingly overnight every other day.. what a time to love beer!

For me, it's SingleCut. All 4 of the beers I've bought from them so far have it it out of the park.

I stopped into Aeronaut Brewing in Mass during my weekend run. Mainly to do an IP trade and trader told me about this brewery. Was pleasantly surprised at their tap room (really big), artistic flare (maybe the coolest can art work i've seen) and good beers. I only tried their 2 IPA's but was impressed. It was their one year anniversary and first time canning! Wish them good luck!
