In Philly this Sunday to Wed. Been there many times, but my knowledge is more than a year out of date. I know the established places (e.g., Standard, Tria, Tired Hands, Forest and Main, Hygge etc.). Looking for advice on new breweries or places with great tap lists that have come on the radar in the last year or so. Also, welcome any scoop on especially good current tap lists at the established places. Thanks in advance p.s. If you have any recent Tired Hands releases you want to trade for OEC, message me. I will have several of them with me.
phillytapfinder will help you find what is tap and where. Also, I was just reading this article about a number of new places in and around Philly: http://www.uwishunu.com/2017/01/12-new-breweries-distilleries-opening-philadelphia-2017/
Since that article is from January - some of those places are now open: -Wissahickon -2nd District -Fishtown Brewpub (opening Saturday)
Crime and Punishment in Brewerytown has always been consistently decent but I've been a few times recently and have left being very impressed. I'd check them out if you already haven't.
A bit outside of Philly but not too far from Tired Hands is Vault Brewing. Real cool setup in an old bank, beers are very good (NZ IPA especially) and the food is damn fantastic.
For clarity sake, Tired Hands and Vault are not that close. They are about an hour away from each other. Vault is in PA, just over the river from Trenton, NJ. Vault is worth a stop though, if passing through the area.
While I agree that it is a decent stop, its hard to call Vault "not too far from Tired Hands" -- it's 40 miles away.
Yeah I got my geography screwed up a bit. I came down to Philly from NY a few months ago and could have sworn Vault was way closer to Philly proper than it is.
Fountain Porter & Hungry Pigeon. Hungry Pigeon doesn't have the best or most extensive draft list but you should go for breakfast, lunch, an after school snack, and dinner. Every day you're here.
