    APA - Boat
IPA - Head High (Spellbound IPA is quite good though)
DIPA - 077xx (Overhead is hot on it's heels)
TIPA - Not a real style

The confusion is really all on today's Brewers who slap IPA on everything, whether it's a red, black or pale ale, because that will help move the beer in the IPA crazed beer world we now live in. By definition a "pale" ale is brewed with "pale" malts, whereas a black ale is brewed with "dark" malts. They really are beers that are on the opposite end of the spectrum but as long as the brewers put the "IPA" label on every can and bottle, I guess you can make that argument.

    APA: Hop Lab Citra

    IPA: Head High

    IIPA: 07750

This list may even change, since I'm finally going to Magnify for the first time tomorrow.

Tuckahoe I Want to See Mountains will be on tap this weekend at the brewery and also next weekend at Jersey Fresh tap takeover at Chickie and Petes in Egg Harbor Twp! Best IPA in Jersey by far!

I don't know why Kane doesn't come out with this more often. I would drink it as much if not more than Carton's Boat.

Can't really add anything different here. I also really dig Magnify's Low Visiblity. Great lower ABV pale ale option. Of course any Kane and Carton pale ales and Flying Fish Exit 16.

hey! we call epitome an american black ale on the can and everywhere else http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26817/88479/ don't lump me in with the guys that call everything with a hop after flame out an IPA

I think you are quoting the wrong guy Augie. That is exactly what I said a few posts earlier as I was replying to those that were calling it an IPA. My other post was a general reference to those breweries calling anything an IPA regardless of style.

no worries i was just reading "today's Brewers who slap IPA on everything," and trying to keep us out of that fray. i think you are right. as you can see from our hoppun can i think hoppy is an ok descriptor for things like pales that are over hopped. no idea how the hoppy=ipa thing happened when hoppy is such a fun word in the first place

Ramstein made a pale ale a few years ago that was to die for.

07750 is the best New Jersey IPA I've had to date. That includes Kane's regular and hop lab offerings (which I also like a lot).

You and I finally agree on something. I'd give it to Boat with Ripple a close second. My list:

    APA: Boat

    IPA: Head High

IIPA: 077XX - sorry going with a non variant for this one

IIIPA: Kane Hop Lab Triple IPA

Btw: Was I the only one that thought Azzacca Pale ale was great? I liked it better than the Citra.

I liked it, but not better than Citra.

By the way, you have a lot of Knae beers on this list for a brewery you've done a 180 on!

I love their beers, I hate that it's a shit show to get things I used to be able to walk right in and get plus have some right there for multiple weekends. I'm happy for them, but I'd be happier if we could go back to when nobody gave a shit about them or if they could figure out a way to increase what they are producing.

Alerting everyone to this one as it is very good. Pocket Trick, Forgotten Boardwalk's new DIPA. This beer really surprised me as I have not been overly impressed with this brewery before this.
Hoppy, dank and tropical, just how I like my DIPA's.
