I am fairly new. Started about a year ago. Only been rating them a couple of months. Wish I could go back and have all of the beer I had before I started rating. I should pass 100 rated this month.

Interesting, I did not know the MBC Celis connection. OP, if you want some fantastic non mainstream beer, Big Rock is not too far. Hurry though, once they finish spinning off Griffin Claw it may not stay under the radar much longer.

    Check out their Happy Hour

So you're the one always swiping the Speedway Stout every time I head there !

I have not been down in over a year, but I do have a co-worker form Toledo that picks me up some Old Numbskull from time to time!!!

Man...this thread has me psyched! Coming up from Nashville for a week starting June 22. Will spend half the time based in Grand Haven (Love Odd Side) and then the latter part of the week in Traverse City (love Right Brain and Shorts). Hoping to hit up some more breweries that I didn't when I was up the last time like Perrian (sp), Vivant and maybe even Beard's Brewing. Love hearing all the different new breweries to try.

BTW...if any Grand Haven/TC BA's out there want to meet up at like Odd Side, I can bring up some stuff that might not distribute up there like Yazoo, Terrapin, Sweetwater etc for bottle share.

If you're taking 65 to 94 you might want to stop at Three Floyd's. Not too far out of your way.

While in Traverse be sure to check out the Jolly Pumpkin restaurant/brewery on Mission Peninsula. They were still renovating the property last time I was through, but Mission Peninsula has some beautiful scenery.

We stopped there the last time. I would love to again, but leaving after work (around 5-6) and probably wouldn't get there until close to midnight. But I'll try

The one place I didn't get to the last time. Do they have much of a selection of their stuff on tap? Someone said last time they only had 2 JP beers on tap at the restaurant.

Only 2 JP beers and some North Peak beers on tap. They have a couple JP bottles as well. It's still worth checking out IMO for a few reasons:

    1. The food is really good

    2. The building/grounds are really beautiful

    3. The drive up Old Mission Peninsula is very scenic

Thanks...sounds like I might never leave Traverse City...JP, Right Brain, Filling Station, 7 Monks....hell, I'll practically be within a 5 min walk of 7 Monks and Mackinaw Brewing (place is on cass st. above a restaurant called Bistro FouFou)

The beers I've had from Liberty Street weren't half bad, either. Very small scale, but working less than 5 miles away is nice.

Am I the only one in GR that can't stand Perrin, just wondering.

My vote goes to Shorts though.

I work with some old people that talk about being able to drink and smoke at work. I was born 50 years too late. I basically want to be Don Draper
