I loved Indeed Sweet Yamma Jamma which is MN only. It will be canned this year for the first time so that's exciting. What are your favorite non-pumpkin veggie beers?

I've had beet-, carrot-, and cucumber-based beers and all were repulsive, with cucumber being least offensive. There's another current thread about avocado beer which also mentions asparagus. The latter is the only one of the five that sounds plausible. I've seen a tomato based brew that I did not dare to give full consideration. I'm also aware of two horseradish flavored beers. Cooked turnips and rutabagas sound half-way plausible, as do sweet potato, gobo (burdock) and winter melon. I'm assuming we're not discussing greens, because then Tree House has to be given full consideration.

The asparagus beer from Right Brain was quite the sessional experience for me at least, something quite different, subtle grilled asparagus flavor and not too heavy of a beer.

Cigar City Cucumber Saison is excellent.

I'm a big fan of Sweet Potato beers as well... which are a long time coming to be the "next big thing." I've only had them homebrewed, but there are a couple out there (Funky Buddha's Sweet Potato Cassarole is supposed to be amazing, but I haven't been in Florida at the right time to try it)

Tomato and pepper beers would be fruit beers, no?

The Spear beer is actually quite good - if you can get it. Typically brewery only in bottles and very limited taps early to mid summer.

Does asparagus beer make your urine smell as well?

Wicked Weed in Asheville, NC brews a cucumber beer called Coolcumber. IMHO, it's much better than CCB's Cucumber Saison (which I also like).

I didn't the couple of times I had it, but it might be the amount of asparagus in the beer as well, I had better drink a lot more of it, 'for science'!

If it does, then beer with beets added should make your shit bloody red as well right?

Where does Mint fall in this because Stone's Mint Stout was awesome... And I'm dying to try CCB Cucumber Saison since I love cucumber and saisons, but alas, mass doesn't have it and our shipping laws are lame.

Jefferson Stout by Lazy Magnolia is cool in that it tastes like a stout up front with a sweet potato souffle aftertaste.
