Hi guys. Looking to start trying some home brew and wondering what some of the better spots to get good hops at? Any variety for now as this is just a thing I want to try. Thanks and cheers

I picked up some 5% AA Cascade grown in Niwot at Brew 'n Q on Wednesday. Not sure what other locally grown hops they had available.

Are they whole hops or pelletized?

Yeah, definitely. I initially didn't see them, but the (I presume) owner mentioned them and they were the same price. Seemed like a no-brainer to support the local hop growers. They also had Amarillo which the previous shop I frequented never seemed to have, so I was excited about that. No Nelson unfortunately.

I've seen local hops at most of the local home brew shops I frequent (for sure at Lafayette HB), although I think they are typically whole hops. Do Your Brew in Arvada usually has a really good selection of hops in general.

you can order straight from Niwot Hops Farm, seasonal dependent. Lisa and Will are very cool people. They grow Crystal, Casdade and Chinook.

Tagawa gardens sells plants in the spring, most lhbs sell rhizomes too. I grew centennials this year, came out okay, hopped an American table beer with them. I quite enjoyed it. Next year I hope for some real production though.

I think they had Chinook too. Just checked out Brew n Que for the first time the other day, great new shop.
