I'm a sucker for a good port, and my bottles of Port BA Wee Heavy from Alesmith are on their way. Looking at reviews got me excited based on the heavy port influence being reported. That being said, what are some of the best port ba beers you've had?

2003 St. Lamvinus. I'm kidding I've never had that white of a whalezbro, nor ever even seen that ghost, but for me Port Barrel Aged Dark Lord was absolutely delicious.

The brewed-once, Michigan-only Clown Shoes Ballad of Minnie Quay is an Old Ale aged in port and whiskey barrels. It's one of my favorite beers.

I just had the Port Wee Heavy from Alesmith Tuesday night & it was divine. I too am a big fan of port, though I don't drink it very often, but having that beer made me think I should be indulging more frequently!

Have had one was over 2 years old and was a disgusting waste of money may have been better fresh but tasted very vinegary

was damn tasty very rich like dark chocolate dipped strawberries. Collaboration with Rev winery that had port aging on rich dark chocolate for ten years and used the barrels for the strawberry stout. Only complaint was the mouthfeel was a bit on the thin side for something so rich.

Minnie Quay is/was awesome. The Belgian brewery Silly does a series of barrel aged scotch ales in 750's (bourbon, cognac, and port). I'll still see them every once in a while on shelves here in MI. For example, the port is my favorite, and I just picked up a bottle about a month ago. Saw the bourbon variety at a store this past weekend.

HF Double Barrel Damon is hands down one of the best beers I've ever had.

Had some Port BA beers last weekend:

    Port BA Dark Lord

DB Damon (aged in Port and Bourbon Barrels)

I thought all were fantastic. DB Damon had low carb and drew about equally from the bourbon and port barrels. The sweetness from the port barrels added some nice sweetness to the finish. Port DL was quite nice: the port barrels added a nice berry characteristic to the dark lord without adding too much sweetness. Silky textures for all 3. I love the port barrel treatment. Port Damon is also one of my favorites.
