As I understand it, Gose was brewed specifically for the refreshing, "gatorade" style purpose.

It's a shame they won't let me drink it in the gym. That way I wouldn't have to choose between drinking beer and going to the gym, because we all know what choice is usually made there.

The post-run beer is one of the reasons I run! After a glass of water I typically want something hoppy but not overpowering. Today it was Spiteful IPA, which is one of the best finds I've made recently. I definitely match my beer intake with water post run to keep things under control, but that beer is a huge motivator.

Firestone Walker Pivo Pils or Modern Times Fortunate Islands are my two favorites.

Most of my runs are completed by 7am, so either water, Gatorade or V8 depending on the length of my run and the outside temperature.

Well yesterday after the bike leg of Ski to Sea it was definitely Interurban.
Fremont might make my favourite day to day IPA.

A few runs recently I've been dying to have a beer right after.

New Glarus Berliner Weisse hit the spot.

I could be wrong but I believe that mainly occurs when people drink a ton of water, like insane amounts. I remember reading about fraternities hazing kids by making them drink crazy amounts of water and people dying from it.

It's weird, but I get a craving for Bourbon County after a run. I'm being completely serious here.

I seek out 5K runs with beer at the end, and have done several. The Rahr Oktoberfest 5K here is a bad-ass run which starts and finishes at a brewery. Last year I had their bock and Oktoberfest seasonals after the race IIRC and it was glorious.

A few months ago I did a 5M run where there was New Belgium stuff at the end. Personally I can't say I like hoppy things at the end of a race - sweeter, maltier things do better by me - but to each their own.

I never drink my own beer after running or working out on my own... though I usually find time for that later.

The victims (the BMA quotes 16 deaths and 1600 people critically ill in marathons alone) seemed to be pretty ordinary people who believed the myth that exercise leads to dehydration and drank unnecessarily.

I've been to a few of the NJ trail series runs this year and they always have SNPA and bagels at the little concession stands once you cross the finish line. I'm usually not one to further dehydrate myself after a run, but oh the sweet sweet taste of SNPA-fueled victory

Just as with everything...two sides to each story...both, usually extreme.

I run and have gotten so dehydrated that I was ill...it is not fun. I do drink plenty of water after a run but have never gotten sick.

You lose so much water while running you can wiegh the lost amount. Wiegh yourself before and then right after a long run...you will be suprised at the results.

Youve basically cropped the article to your own theory. For one it says "The cause of this is keenly debated—in particular whether it is the volume or type of fluid consumption that is most to blame" and then concludes that scientists are still not in agreement. For another the article is about the danger of sports drinks not really about the danger of drinking water en mass. While it mentions that drinking tons of water may be bad it doesn't give any conclusive evidence or outright state this... simply put, no conclusion is made that drinking lots of water is bad for you during running.

I'm in for a Victory Summer Love right now after a good run outside. Agreed that an APA/IPA is the way to go. 3F Pride & Joy would be another vote. Something a little sweet, a little bitter, and a lot smooth...

Hop Nosh or, alternatively, Rodenbach Flemish Red. Both seem to have a real mouth-watering inducement. Depends on my mood, though. Sometimes its green tea.
