Schlafly is top notch, Alewerks pumpkin is a good second. Pumking is over rated.

I didn't make it through all 5 pages of this thread but I'll throw a vote out there for Screamin' Pumpkin from Griffin Claw. Fantastic stuff.

Just tried Evil Genius - Trick or Treat yesterday and it was very good. Not so much pumpkin-ey, more chocolate than anything, but there is subtle hints of pumpkin spice. Tasty beer nonetheless.

I picked up a bottle of Rumpkin in Philly last weekend (dated Sep. '14) and am really excited to try it out. Would any one who has aged this beer before recommend a good age on it to open it? Like is a year good? 2? 3?

Also does anyone else have trouble spelling pumpkin? Literally every time I type it out I type pumkin. I may just be stupid

DFH punkin for sure. After that I really like Epic fermentation w/o representation.

OT a little, any opinions on how Avery Rumkyn and PumpKYn age? I saved a few from last year. They drink like liquor when new, just wondering what they're like w 12 months in the fridge on them.

I'll vote for Southern Tier Pumpking and Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin. I'm sure I will be adding to the list as fall approaches.

My local Wegmans has it by the 6 pack and I want to try it. I am a fan of their Purple Monkey Dishwasher.

I have a bottle of Rumkyn too....no idea how it is going to taste.........and you are not alone my friend...........I have to go back and add the damn P almost every time!!:angry:

I am hosting a pumpkin tasting in Mid October. On the Menu for now are:
    Good Gourd Almighty
    Headless Heron
    Fall Saints
    Heirloom Pumpkin
Ignus Fatus (and hope its not infected)
    Imperial Pumpkin Smash
    2012 Pumpkinator
    Some Tequilla BA Pumpkin ale
    Schlafy
    Good Gourd
    Seasonal Creep
    Rumkyn
    Pumpkin Pie Lust
Caution Contains Real Pumpkin (I hope)
and then I am going to add several local PA ones and a few other bottles I already have and am forgetting............I am getting thirsty already!

That tasting sounds awesome. You should add some of Elysian's offerings if you can because they will probably hold up with the best of 'em. And yes please post your winners when mid October rolls around

When does Selin's Grove usually come out with their pumpkin ale? I'll be driving through PA to the Rochester area for Thanksgiving and would love to try it.

Well for some reason I can't get on their website..............so I called them! They told me it should be out in Mid October.......the 13th or 20th maybe? Definitely worth the visit in my opinion.

Haha, good for you! I should have done that myself. After missing out on the Kriek earlier this summer, I called them last week to make sure Saison de Peche will still be on this Friday when we're passing through and they said it should be. I'm looking forward to it almost as much as my wife is...

Maybe my new favorite, highly drinkable pumpkin.....Gourd Standard from Flying Dog. Really liked this one.
