Crown valley imperial pumpkin smash for a stout pumpkin. Schlafly pumpkin for the ale style. Both are the best out their.

I had Fat Heads Spooky Tooth last night and it was as good as I remembered from last year. I need to try this Schlafy stuff, is it widely distributed? I don't recall ever seeing it here in Ohio.

Schlafly just hit Ohio earlier this year. The Pumpkin is available now. It's really good.

I prefer O'Fallon pumpkin because it's is more "pumpkin pie" and less "bowl of holiday potpourri". Lakefront brandy barrel pumpkin should drop in a couple weeks too (I emailed the brewery).

I am not the biggest fan of this style, but I do enjoy the Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin beer that comes in the fall seasonal pack. Central Waters Headless Heron is an outstanding beer. La Parcela by Jolly Pumpkin is a fun take on the style. If I had to have a Southern Tier one, I would choose Warlock. I wanted to try the Rum BA Pumkin!

Flying Dog's Gourd Standard is an excellent beer. A pumpkin IPA, and it's the first I've ever had. I would highly recommend it. Dogfish Head's Punkin Ale is outstanding as well. If you like more subtle pumpkin pie flavors rather than the heavily spiced, in your face kind, this is for you. Punkin Ale is an extremely quaffable brew that screams Redskins games, turkey and Fall.

for me hands down Almanacs Heirloom pumpkin brandy aged barleywine. Hits the flavors on everything I think of pumpkin and its season. Warms you up, pumpkin pie tasting, brandy flavor, amazing all around.

I agree with Alewerks. Fortunately my parents were in that town a couple yeas back and my dad picked up a growler of pumpkin ale for me. Delicious!

Has anyone in PA or NY seen Good Gourd on shelves there before? Would love to get my hands on a bottle but CC doesn't distribute to NJ.

Every year I try to taste 15 or so different pumpkin beers. Weyerbacher, Schlafly, Iron Hill Great Pumpkin and Riverhorse are among my annual favs. Also really enjoyed Evil Genius Trick of Treat last year.

This year I am on the look out for Good Gourd, Whole Hog, Troegs Master of Pumpkins, BP Pumpkin Down, Gourd Standard and a few others.

A lot of people have given Shipyard Pumpkinhead a lot of flack (including the bros) but I quite like it. It's not exactly a pumpkin tasting beer, more of a pumpkin pie spice flavour, but if you're into that sort of thing you may enjoy it.
