Ok, so there is constant debate as to which holds the title of the best barrel aged beer. There's arguments for and against BCBS, Black Note, KBS, etc. and even greater arguments for beers we may never see brewed again (CBS, Rare, Prop, etc.).

Was wondering what opinions exist on beers that are barrel aged and quite readily available.

My vote is for Backwoods Bastard as I can seem to find it usually 3-5 months out of the year if I look in the right spot. Even in highly trafficked areas, it can sit for a few days and there aren't people chasing trucks for it.

For readily available, I'd have to second Backwoods Bastard. Its just so flavorful and smooth. Its great how easily obtainable this beer can be.

Love Backwoods Bastard but I still have a relatively difficult time finding it. I've only seen it on the shelves around here until about two weeks after the release. But it is still way easier to find in comparison to other BA beers.

Yep, can do new/oak barrels. I believe they're more expensive to make, no?

Had a beer from Perrin the other day, Hopwood, not in distribution but absolutely tremendous!

    Weyerbacher Insanity.

I like Backwoods Bastard more but it was somewhat difficult to find around here. I couldn't just go to the store and get it at any time. I've probably seen more BCBS than I did Backwoods this year.

Why these three beers don't get more attention on here is beyond me, Black Xantus especially in my opinion. That beer is divine, and easily worth the 12 dollar price tag

Always love me some Dragon's Milk from New Holland Brewing and you can find that year round in Michigan. $16 for a 4 pack.

In NJ seems like most barrel aged stuff goes super quick aside from Dragons Milk which is always around. Even BBB went within a week or two here.

Oak Aged Yeti doesn't see a barrel, just oak chips.
