I am from NJ and am constantly underwhelmed by the IPA selection here. Yes Carton and Kane are good but I have to drive a half hour to get Kane in a growler and Carton cans are a fight to find most of the time. I am looking for a nice citrusy IPA. I dont know what to pick. Every time I pick a random 6er off the shelf I find myself disappointed. I could use a suggestion or two to point me in a good direction. I am tired of having to trade for IPAs or run to breweries. I would like to find a happy alternative and I could use your help

    Thanks!

Schlafly TIPA and AIPA are quite tasty and in the NJ market I believe.

I do. I should have mentioned that I am getting tired of Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin. That's basically the only IPAs I have drank that I have purchased

You are the second person I have seen mention them. I think I will give them a go. Any other ideas

In your area, OP, I would seek some Flower Power by Ithaca.

From when I first had it 4 years ago til now it seems to have changed dramatically, and not for the better. Could also be my tastes have changed

No idea how available they are in your area but Dogfish Head 60 and 90 minute are usually easy to get in the mid atlantic. Bell's Two Hearted is everywhere too.

Do you get Deschutes in your area. "Fresh Squeezed" is really good. Also

Both are possible. I haven't had Flower Power in roughly 3 years.

I find the Dogfish a little malty/spicy as opposed to citrusy. Check out Sixtpoint Resin and Hi-Res, and Bengali. DC Brau Corruption is really good and underrated I think. Hopnosh from Uinta. Ginga Ninja from Black Hog is soo good that we hold it in back at my store and underrated on BA.

Lagunitas Sucks is out in 6ers now at most stores down here in MD (started showing up over the last week or so). That one usually tops them all and its also fairly easily available AND inexpensive.

I second these if you can get them. They are both seasonals, but the season for them are right after the other. TIPA is from October to February and AIPA is from March to August. So you only have one month a year that neither is available. TIPA is my favorite IPA, with AIPA a close second.

Other than that, Odell's is awesome. As is Fresh Squeezed and Two Hearted. Sculpin is amazing, but not available everywhere and pricey.
