I am on a quest to find the best tasting snakebite (half hard cider, half lager)...my favorite lager, Lakefront Riverwest Stein is looking for the perfect slightly dry hard cider to hook up with. Anyone like snakebites and have a favorite hard cider that works well?

I thought a snakebite was half stout half cider. :slight_frown:

I think that's a variation on a black/tan, or a specific kind of shandy. (Or a "Poor Man's Black Velvet" according to Wiki .)

Ya I've only heard stout and cider be called "black velvet."

As for the OP's original question, I have no idea. My gf does the black velvets with Magner's, though, and most recently Magner's Pear cider.

If it is your favorite lager, why do you want to ruin it?

I was going to suggest Crispin's Bird on a Wire, but then I thought why ruin that.
