That doesn't answer the question. Why does Lagunitas consider this an APA? There must be some reason they consider it such.

Considering none of those (except Lagunitas) are available in the great state of California in which I reside and I haven't tried any of them... I cannot vote until themind sends me fresh samples of all these.

I had ZD and Sue several times in the last month and would choose ZD 9 out of 10 times.

ISO Lights On and Hop Hands.

Sure there is. They brewed an APA. (If you want something more specific you'll need to contact Lagunitas, I've heard they are sometimes quite responsive to answering questions about their beers.)

You might think of it this way (although the analogy is not perfect).

Some folks say rattlesnake meat tastes a lot like chicken. (It actually does but can be a whole lot tougher as meat.) Suppose I have some fresh rattlesnake meat that I use in place of chicken in my chicken stew recipe. (Properly prepared cooked rattlesnake meat is quite tender, etc.)

Just because the stew tastes like a chicken stew doesn't make the meat chicken meat or the stew a chicken stew.

Moon Man. As for what's on the list I'd have to say Zombie Dust.

Because it's an ale and it's pale colored. That's all there is to it.

My vote is for MO. Every time I drink it, I discover something new about it.

I voted for Zombie Dust. Haven't had or heard of Hop Hands or Lights on but judging by the early responses, either not many others have heard of Hop Hands or it doesn't belong on this"best of" list.

If it weren't for the Florida Sue part, I would agree. Florida Sue is a passable, but somewhat sad stand in. Occasionally solid, occasionally terrible.

I live in Connecticut and we get two of these beers. MO and Born Yesterday. These beers are too regional to compare on a national scale unless one trades. I am trying to figure out now why I quoted you. I think I miss read your post.

Have only had two of those but I'd give Zombie Dust the edge over Born Yesterday. And throw in Founders Harvest Ale for 3rd place.
