Founder's Red--this fresh personifies what a rye beer can be. Bright but yet robust. Magic.

Nelson is a rye but so much more--to me, the best beer I have ever had.

Look into terrapin. Spike over there can't get enough of his rye. Lots of their year round and seasonals have it. And virtually every limited release they do has some rye in the grain bill.

I don't know how many of you have had a chance to try it, but the Apostelbräu roggenbier, if you're looking to try something with bold, bready, "rye" flavor, is pretty hearty. Interesting, at least. One of the more danker yeast-bombs. In the ballpark of a homebrew-rustic, melanoidin-rich hefe. I liked it. Probably not for everyone. You may have luck finding it in a German-style restaurant.

My favorite rye beer is Bell's Smitten Golden Rye. This balanced pale ale is right up my alley. There's plenty of hops and rye flavor but neither is excessive and the beer has a great malt profile that makes it taste silky smooth. Smitten isn't just one of my favorite rye beers, it's one of my favorite seasonals in general.

We just had the Cigar City/AleSmith collaboration Ramblin' Rye and it was great. Not as good as Wookey Jack, but definitely a great offering.

I recently tried Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger and found it really good, but hot compared to my go-to beer, Westbrook's One Claw rye pale ale. At 5.5% and a bit citrusy, this is a great year-round beer, especially at the beach.

Anyone ever try Rye Rebellion by Full Pint? Excellent rye stout which is also whiskey barrel aged.

I don't like rye beers... with the exception of He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's RIPA and Two Brothers Cane & Ebel. LOVE those beers!

Rye beers might be my favorite style, love them. Thanks for the suggestions, just added a few brews to my wants list. Some of my favorites have already been mentioned but there are plenty of others in the wild:

August Schell's Emerald Rye (fantastic, but sadly retired)
Blue Point Rastafa Rye (surprised this one hasn't been mentioned, unless I missed it)
    Freetail Witicus Double Rye Wit
Harpoon Rich & Dan's Rye IPA
Harpoon Leviathan Imperial Rye (easily Harpoon's two best beers IMHO)
    Lawson's Permagrin
New Belguim RyePA (on shelves now, good, relatively cheap bomber)
    New Holland Rye Hatter
    Otto's Zeno Rye Pale
    Short's Rich's Rye
    Smuttynose Rhye IPA

I could hold a long conversation about the finer points of the many fine ryes on the market if I could get the people in my various tasting groups to get their noses out of their sours & barrel-aged whatsnot to broaden their horizons!
