Best Setting to Drink In?

More than anything, just drinking with a couple of my good friends that I don't get to see that often, no matter the place. For a specific place, on my deck in the summer, especially after dark.

 

My favorite place to drink is in a city/country with no open container law that I am exploring for the first time. Beer should be something local and/or new.

 

Any smoke-free place that my beer doesn't get knocked over, mostly my desk at home, while checking out BA.

 

I have a nice little woods to look at out my picture windows int he living room so home drinking is very comfortable.

 

With good friends; the place is always second to the people

 

Wherever my friends are.

 

I can enjoy a good beer in many settings--watching sports, cooking on the grill, happy hour with friends, etc.

However, a few months ago my wife and I rented a cabin pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There was a half-acre pond on the property and one morning I set my alarm for 6:00 am so I could beat the sunrise. I'm not much of a fisherman but I grabbed my gear, parked my self in a lawn chair and poured myself a Founder's Breakfast Stout while watching the fog roll off the pond and just taking in my surroundings. I can't imagine a better setting. I've got the beer thing down, but if anyone has tips for getting largemouth bass to bite I'm all ears.

 

There's something about a spring/summer afternoon outdoors that's nice.

 

In my recliner, while watching a movie, with my girlfriend laying on the couch reading her Nook. Wait...that's most night.

I do enjoy drinking a special beer, whatever my mood leads me to, while sitting on the side porch, smoking a cigar and watching the horses graze.

 

During a long hike. Trekking with some brews in my pack on ice looking for the best spot to drink them in

 

Bass - ask the locals - I thought I was a pretty good bass fisherman, but there is a "home pond" thing, apparently. Go to the local bait and tackle shop, hang out for a while, listen to the old-timers like a Paduan listening to Yoda. Do what they say.

Totally agree about that setting - we rented a "primitive" cabin on an island in Lake Saranac, NY. Stunning sunrise/sunset (and the middle wasn't too bad), peaceful, and what a wonderful place to enjoy a good brew.

But my patio at home looks out on the woods, mostly, and a nice evening with the Red Sox on the radio, the hot tub open, fire in the pit - hard to beat.

Cold seasons - the living room with the Bruins, Celtics, football, or a good movie.

 

Ha! I thought I was the only one who straps in his growlers in their kids seats! Safety first!

 

I enjoy drinking at my bands rehearsal room. Playing Load music, some of my closest friends and great beer makes for a great experience! We all enjoy craft beer, our rehearsals are pretty much a 4 man bottle share.

On the beach, in a great bar with friends, at home with friends or even by myself...uh-oh, here we go:

Goses go down nicely in the sun, as do stouts and porters in the winter months
Lambics are sweet and go nice with dessert, and a quad with some cheese certainly never hurt
Dubbels, Tripels, Weizens and Wits - Rye beers, coffee beers, yes anything fits!

The aromas and the flavors, so good that I must savor
As I drink them at a music show, or while I have band practice when I'm in the flow

At home with or without friends, As I live in a little town that only has crap on tap like Stella, Fosters & Kronenbourg and I refuse to pay over £3 for a pint of any of the beers on tap. Fishing or out in the woods is nice but most the time I'm just playing music on Spotify while on Photoshop enjoying a nice beer of dram!
