Although I've only done it once, probably the best setting I ever drank in was in a tube floating down the Saco River with my girlfriend, some friends, and a floating barge between us packed with frosty brews and sandwiches. It was an absolutely perfect day, I didn't get my pasty self sunburned, and the views were awesome. It was the first weekend in a long time that I actually completely unwound and the trip was a highlight of the summer. You Seacoast Mainers will know what I'm talking about. I'm already planning to have some cans of Founders All Day IPA for next summer.

Anywhere as long as the beer fridge is within arms' length distance.

On my couch, preferably with no one else in the vicinity running their mouth. Have a good game, good movie, good documentary or good music playing.

In other words, the best environment is just me, enjoying the beer in my hand and no one nearby to fuck up my experience.

depends on time of year and mood.

I definitely like to drink outdoors, and my favorite place is on boat on the water (preferably ocean) or at the beach.
The mountains are a good setting too but I prefer the beach.

when I get off work I look forward to getting home and firing up the weber kettle and grill/smoke my dinner and relax with a nice beer on the porch. I also play a lot of disc golf with my friends and like to bring a beer or 2 for while I play.

I would have to say by a campfire is probably close to the best, but nothing beats sitting in your living room with a good beer, food and movie.

    Patio in the summer.

We call it "sniffing beers on the veranda" in these parts.

One of my favorite places is with my wife, sitting in an Adirondack chair on the beach at the Mucky Duck in Captiva, FL while watching a sunset. There's always someone playing music in the background and it's pretty chill.

If it's too cold, a bar or a place with a fireplace is usually spot on. Aspen, CO comes to mind, as we've been here several times and spent a great deal of time in one particular place that had a fireplace and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

Most of my beer drinking at home is done at a desk next to the laptop. Thats probably not a good thing but I dont care. I dont watch a ton of tv so Im not sitting on the coach in front of the tv drinking a beer unless a sporting event is on. I dont drink beer with my meals at home either I prefer to drink after dinner. So yeah best setting is at a bar/restaurant for me.

    1. Sitting in the recliner watching golf (IPA & Pales), baseball (Cerveza, Pales, Adjunct) or college football (DIPA, Imperial Stouts & Belgian Quads).
    2. Sitting on the back porch at the lake looking out over the water, or while out in the boat fishing. The time of year will determine what styles to drink, and if it's during the winter throw in some scotch to for something other than beer.
    3. The pub, because there's no better place to drink with people who actually appreciate craft beers.

I know there's been a few people who've mentioned drinking while playing Xbox or PS, but to me that's just distracting. I don't mind drinking if I'm just talking to people online, but if I'm actually playing a game, I usually forget about the beer sitting in front of me and it warms a bit too much.

Got a favorite restaurant in Lobster Village (Puerto Nuevo, Mexico) about an hour from the California border that's so close to the ocean, the crashing surf practically sprinkles the deck during high tide. You can bring your own tasty craft beers from the states (it helps if you share with the waiters). My #1 combo: Alpine Nelson and pan-fried lobster with homemade tortillas and garlic butter while enjoying that billion dollar view of the Pacific Ocean at sunset.
