Late on this but I tried it for the first time when Breskis got it in. Might be my favorite beer I tried in 2020. The dry hopping is great and not overdone. Another home run for them

Also picked up the Yuengling Golden Pilsner last night. 12 pack for $10.99 at Giant

great beer and alternative to my go to cheap beer if Miller Lite. Still retains that signature Yuengling profile

Hmmm... when I first read this post and saw the 12 pack cans of Scrimshaw I thought, "Easy to find? Uh, not in years and find fresh - well, even more years...". In New Jersey, North Coast is distributed statewide by the smallish, indie Black River Traders with a quirky portfolio (gotta say I seldom find a lot of those breweries' beers on the shelves) and their distribution is often hit or miss...

So, I was surprised yesterday to find that same 12 pack on the shelf yesterday at Bottle King. Then I was disappointed to not be able to find any date coding on the packaging. Toyed with popping open a flap and pulling out a can to see if the cans are dated (NC used to use a complicated "day of the year" code, as I recall) but passed on it.

(I gotta start carrying some 2" clear packaging tape for just such a occasion. What, a clerk's gonna get mad? Better than picking up 8 to 12 cans rolling around the floor, one or more of which might be spraying out beer...)

I was reminded that North Coast is contracting with Gordon Biersch (maybe for the ability to can?) for the Pilsner and some of their other beers.

Finally found Lazy River Pils in NEPA. Bought the last six pack at Wegman's Easton.

No canning dates or ABV% which is to be expected from New Trail.

Reminds me a little bit of Sterling Pig's Shoat Pilsner, only drier and a more pronounced hop character. Not my favorite, but definitely true to the style and worth grabbing if you see it.

You are a more lenient beer customer than I am. If New Trail chooses to not put dates on their cans I choose to not purchase their products.

    Cheers!
