Looking to invest in a few high quality shipping boxes that can be used over and over again. I hate trying to scrounge up new boxes for each trade.

From a little searching, I've heard that Uline and Spirited Shipper boxes are pretty good. Anyone have any other ideas?

The only downside to having separate compartments is that it limits the amount one can send in each box....

One problem is that unless you are trading with the same person over and over again, you'll only be using the box once.

I try to buy a new 6pk or 12pk shipper for each trade. It might be a few bucks, but really gives me peace of mind that I can I can bubble wrap them and they are secure.

    Cheers!

I "scrounge" up new boxes to trade at Walmart.......60 cents. (14x14x14)is my fav. size.
Throw a 750ml. box w/the thick cardboard dividers inside that one and apply bubble wrap.
Works for me like a charm.Multiple uses for whoever is using that box.....lol.

    Cheers

I agree. He just mentioned that he wanted to invest in high quality box that he can use over and over again. Kinda tough unless you are doing multiple trades with that person, or they are waiting to ship back so that they can reuse your box.

Yeah, really only works for a good solid trading partner on a once a month basis or if he sets up a couple regional guys really. Good point. I only re-used your box because those lilttle boxes were so helpful for glassware.

    Cheers!

Yeah sorry I should have specified that I will indeed be using the box with the same trading partner(s). So having something that is sturdy to begin with and then having it hold up over time would be great.

I recently ordered beer from Halftime and the packing setup in those boxes is awesome.

Order a uline 12 bottle styrofoam shipper online. Very sturdy, and much more convenient when packing up the box.

I did this exact same thing shipping beers back from Colorado. Good man.

This exactly. You can order from Uline, Uhaul and several other places. No packaging materials needed and you can reuse them for at least 6 shipments or so. The box starts to wear down but they are great.

For bigger trades I use boxes that I get at my local meat market. They are cardboard on the outside and the inside is like a styrofoam cooler. I only ask for them after a big purchase and they usually give them to me. If you have a nice butcher shop around it doesn't hurt to ask if they have them.

They aren't used they are new. That is what they use to ship meat out to people.

This is exactly what I do. Though I use bomber boxes without the thin cardboard dividers. I just bubble wrap each bottle and pack it tight an stuff with newspaper. Perfect. Plus all the bottles are vertical and the sloshing sound is masked very well

This. I use a Walmart 12x12x11 box as my interior box, layer of packing peanuts between boxes.

Never ordered those, but I received a very tight 12-bottle styro in a trade one time that would fit a bomber snugly, but too tight for a standard 750. Given the description, I'm guessing that might be the same thing, and if so, then no it wouldn't fit a Bruery bottle.

Another suggestion I tried recently - gorillashipper.com - they're meant for bulk ordering, but I got 6 of them for about $13/each shipped. When you factor in shipping compared to uhaul/uline/etc, that's about as cheap as it gets. If you bulk order with local BA's, you can get it even cheaper, as it's only about $7/box, just shipping kills you on a small order. Very thick cardboard - I've already had a couple shipped from my Bruery trustee, and I would trust them as much as a styro.
