I'm only comparing Logsdon with Cascade, I'd love to try De Garde and The Commons.

I'm with you on the one-dimensionality of Cascade, it's a big reason I don't seek it out much down here any more.

Great River Brewery in Davenport, IA makes a fantastic infected brew...does that count.

    Don't ever go there!

Jester King's sours are up there. Hops and Grain has released a sour beer or two and they are quite good as well.

For Maine it is obviously Allagash. No debate there.

I know a lot of my fellow Massholes will say Nightshift, but I personally think Cisco is the better choice. Lady and Pechish Woods, although very simple are outstanding, and Ale Aged on Estate Grown Raspberries rivals that of Coolship Red.

I agree. Nightshift represents well but I would also give Cisco the upper hand by a good margin.

For my home state of Texas it's pretty obvious who owns the sour game, Jester King all day.

Where I'm currently living in Kansas there isn't a brewery that's making a commercial sour yet. Notice how I said yet. Tallgrass has been experimenting with barrel aging stuff with pedio and lacto, some things with brett. At one tour a few months back they had on a Berliner Weisse with blackberries, they wanted it to be purple for Kansas State. I missed out on that one but I've tried some of the Berliner experiments since, and I gotta say they're getting pretty damn close.

There's two guys out of Boulder doing some great sours and funky berlinner weisses! Corey and Alex are their names. "Prickly Bitch" and "KumQuattrini" are the two that I'm dying to try. They are small, but mark my words they will be one of the best someday!

I haven't seen anyone mention odell. The meddler, friek, deconstruction were all tasty beers. They don't put out as much as avery, or anything as crazy as crooked stave, but the sours and wilds. They do put out are solid.

It's a brewpub, but Wrecking Bar in ATL (Little Five) makes some berliners that are serviceable. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wild Heaven put one out either.

They don't even have a brewery yet. They are out of one of the guys basements on a small set up but cranking out some awesome, amazing beers. Message me if you're trying to get your hands on some. The batches of KumQuattrini (berlinner with kumquats) and their Prickly Bitch (prickly pear sour) still have a few months of conditioning left. They had a great black IPA "Wake of the Flood" and their amazing Imperial Stout with chilis and cocoa "Inky Thump" was awesome. One of the guys used to brew over at J.Wells in Boulder, the other is just a beer nerd who enjoys brewing and works at upslope.

Just moved to Florida, but there's not much to offer in this style.

But Southern Brewing and Winemaking makes some killer berliners with several fruit variants.

I think 7venth sun makes a few wilds which I have not yet had, but will soon!

We'll 7venth sun makes some great FL berliners, Funky Buddha Lounge makes some of the best sours around and the Funky Buddha Brewery did a few decent sours. J Wakefield opening this year makes top notch sours and if you are in the Tampa St Pete area there are a ton of local small breweries that turn out great berliners. The Cajun Cafe does an annual sour fest that is outstanding.
